layiq
worthy; deserving; fitting; suitable.
A role, opportunity, or path that merits attention, time, and pursuit.
Loading LAYIQ…Paste a job link to check whether the posting is still available, how old it is, and what to look at before applying. No sign-up, no résumé.
LAYIQ reads the posting where the employer publishes it and shows whether the employer still lists the job, its posting date and age, wording about future openings, and where Apply goes. It gives no score or verdict, never reads LinkedIn or Indeed pages (it asks for the company and job title), and does not save your link to an account.

This is an example for a made-up job at a made-up employer, Northwind Pay. It is not a real posting or a real result. The findings table shows what was found and where each finding came from. A live posting does not confirm active hiring.
Example only. Made-up job, made-up employer.

When the posting's own text mentions a talent pool, a general application, future openings, a résumé kept for later, ongoing recruitment or an opening that depends on funding, or says applications have closed or there is no current vacancy, the Posting wording row names it and the result quotes the exact words.
| What we check | Why it matters | Where it comes from |
|---|---|---|
| Is the posting still available? | A removed posting can still appear on job boards. A live listing is useful evidence, but does not prove the employer is hiring. | The employer's hiring site or the job page you linked to. |
| Does the job page say it has closed? | A page that says the job is no longer available, gives a closing date that has passed, or no longer exists is evidence the job has closed. | A closing date or a message on the job page that applications are no longer accepted. |
| How old is it? | Hiring can take months. A posting over six months old deserves a closer look. After a year, confirm the role is still open before applying. | The posting date provided by the hiring site or job page. Reposting can reset this date; a 'last updated' date is not a posting date. |
| Do the dates agree? | Different dates may mean the role was reposted. They can also mean the sites report different stages of a posting's history. | The date reported by the source compared with the date in LAYIQ's listing, when both are available. |
| Is it in LAYIQ's current listings? | A match is another sign the posting is available. LAYIQ does not list every job, so no match does not mean the role is closed. | LAYIQ's current listings. |
| Does the wording read like one role? | Some postings collect applications for future openings rather than one specific role. Check this before spending time on an application. | The job title and description. |
| Where does Apply go? | A link to the employer's own site or a known hiring system is what you would expect. | The address you pasted. |
A live posting does not confirm that an employer is actively hiring. The role may be on hold, already filled, or taking longer to hire for. An old posting is a reason to ask whether the role is still open. If a site can't be checked, that does not count against the job. If a lookup from a LinkedIn or Indeed link finds no posting with your title, that does not count against the job either: the employer may list it under a different title or on another hiring system. Use the findings to decide what to confirm with the employer before applying.
Of the 405,031 open jobs LAYIQ lists from about 10,000 employers, this is how long ago each was posted.

As of . Posting dates come from the employers' own postings.
Look for the same job on the employer's own careers page, using the title, location and job ID if there is one. The Ghost Job Checker does that first step for you: paste the Apply link (or a LinkedIn or Indeed link, and tell it the company and job title) and it shows whether the employer's own hiring system or job page still lists the posting, the posting date when the source provides one, and where Apply goes. If a site can't be read, the result says so. A live posting does not confirm active hiring, so confirm with the employer. How to tell if a job posting is still open walks through the steps by hand.
Not necessarily. Being able to apply means the posting is still up, but a job can stay posted when hiring has paused, the role has been filled, or the employer is collecting applications for future openings. The checker shows what the employer's own posting says: whether it is still listed, how old it is, and any wording about future openings or closed applications. If you are unsure, ask the employer or recruiter whether the role is open now.
LAYIQ does not measure that, so there is no single number to give. Its job posting age data counts the open jobs it lists by how long ago each employer posted them, in four age ranges with a median age. That is a snapshot of what is open now: it cannot see when a job closes, and it is more likely to include jobs that stay up for months than jobs filled within days. Reposting can also reset a job's date, so a role may be older than the date shown. To see how old one posting is, paste its link above.
No. It shows whether a posting is still available and highlights details worth checking. It cannot confirm that an employer is actively hiring or plans to fill the role. Ask the employer about anything that concerns you.
Hiring can take months, and some employers keep a role open until the right person applies. Postings over six months old are marked worth a second look; those over a year old show a warning. Check the employer's careers page or ask the recruiter whether they are still accepting applications.
Many employer careers and application sites, plus jobs listed on LAYIQ. Use a direct link to one job. Some sites limit access or don't provide enough information to confirm a posting. If that happens, the result tells you what could not be checked. LAYIQ never reads LinkedIn, Indeed, Glassdoor or other job boards. If you paste a link from one of them, it asks for the company and job title and looks for the posting on the employer's own hiring system instead.
We check the public posting details available from the job's source, such as its title, description, dates and availability. We never open LinkedIn, Indeed or other job-board pages, even when you paste their links. We do not sign in to the employer's site or submit an application. If the page requires access we don't have, the result says it could not be checked.
Yes. LAYIQ never reads the LinkedIn or Indeed page, so it asks you for the company and the job title instead. Where the link's own address carries the company or the title, it is filled in for you; whatever it does not carry, you type. LAYIQ then looks for the posting on the employer's own hiring system and lists the closest matches. You pick the posting you saw, and LAYIQ runs the usual check on it. Links from other job boards, such as Glassdoor or ZipRecruiter, work the same way.
It finds only employers LAYIQ knows, and it says so when it does not know one. For an employer on Greenhouse, Lever or Ashby, LAYIQ reads the employer's job list directly and shows when it read it. For an employer on another hiring system, or one whose list LAYIQ cannot read, it uses LAYIQ's own listings, which are not a live read and can be days behind. If LAYIQ read only part of a list, the result says how much it read and does not say the title is missing from the rest. If nothing matches, that does not mean the job is closed: the employer may list it under a different title or on another hiring system.
We don't save the link you paste to an account or publish your result on a shareable page. Check results and public job details are kept for up to 15 minutes to make repeat checks quicker. Your job link and the contents of the job page are not included in our usage logs. For a LinkedIn or Indeed link, the company and job title you type are used for that lookup only and are not logged or saved to an account.

Job boards may keep showing a posting after it has closed. Look for the same job on the employer's careers page before applying. If the result appears wrong, tell us.
Update the original job posting, then allow up to 15 minutes for an existing check result to expire. If the result still looks wrong, contact support with the job link.
