From Medical College of Wisconsin's posting. “We” and “our” refer to the employer.
The Division of Pulmonary, Critical Care, and Sleep Medicine at the Medical College of Wisconsin (MCW) offers an opportunity for a board eligible/board certified physician to work in a community/outpatient setting at Froedtert West Bend in West Bend, WI, and potentially in outpatient & inpatient settings at the Zablocki Veterans Affairs Medical Center (VA) in Milwaukee, WI. Join us in transforming health care and connecting communities as we provide exceptional care to diverse communities in southeastern Wisconsin!
Our division of thirty-four faculty members provides subspeciality care in Critical Care, General Pulmonary, Cystic Fibrosis, Pulmonary Hypertension, Interventional Pulmonary, Interstitial Lung Disease, Lung Cancer Screening, Lung Transplant, Obstructive Lung Disease, Pulmonary Complications of Cancer Therapy, Research, Sleep Medicine, and Smoking Cessation.
Froedtert Hospital and MCW are experiencing expansive growth, both in our local community & regionally.
This position will consist of modest office hours, call rotation of 1:4 with weekend coverage, and support from the hospitalist with co-management on ICU patients. We also utilize virtual nocturnal ICU coverage, with very limited after-hours critical care needs, allowing us to offer outstanding balance and quality of life. A PFT lab and sleep center is onsite, and procedures such as central lines, intubations, and thoracentesis are optional, but available. The open ICU allows hospitalists to see selected patients without critical
care consult mandated unless critically ill requiring vasopressor support or mechanical invasive or non-invasive ventilation. Responsibilities at the VA will include clinics, ICU, and pulmonary consult service weeks & procedures.
Sleep medicine training is helpful, though not necessary. Student teaching opportunities are available.
