The Wang Lab is an NIH-funded laboratory in the Section of Genetic Medicine focused on RNA-targeting early drug discovery for undruggable targets.
Job Summary
The Jingxin Wang’s lab within the Section of Genetic Medicine, Department of Medicine, an NIH-funded laboratory focused on RNA-targeting early drug discovery for undruggable targets, is seeking a full-time Research Technician.
Responsibilities
- Perform routine RNA-seq library preparation on a biweekly basis.
- Maintain multiple mammalian and cell culture lines.
- Manage lab inventory and instrumentation.
- Maintains technical and administrative support for a research project.
- Analyzes and maintains data and/or specimens. Conducts literature reviews. Assists with preparation of reports, manuscripts and other documents.
- Performs other related work as needed.
Minimum Qualifications
- Education: Minimum requirements include a college or university degree in related field.
- Work Experience: Minimum requirements include knowledge and skills developed through < 2 years of work experience in a related job discipline.

Preferred Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor's degree in biology, chemistry, biochemistry, or a related field.
- Experience: Relevant research experience.
- Preferred Competencies
- Basic computer skills (including Microsoft Office).
- Knowledge of research techniques and methods.
- Ability to work with little direct oversight.
- Ability to work within a larger research team.
- Attention to detail.
- Biochemistry lab skills (e.g., buffer preparation, pipetting, PCR).
- Organizational and time-management skills.
