Where You’ll Work – Contractor Equipment Division (CED)

The Contractor Equipment Division makes sprayers that apply paint to walls and other structures, with product models for users ranging from do-it-yourself homeowners to professional paint contractors. Contractor equipment also includes sprayers that apply texture to walls and ceilings, highly viscous coatings to roofs, and line markings on roads, parking lots, athletic fields and floors.

The future of CED is bright, with significant investments being made across the business; the division is expanding to accommodate increased demand and growth driven by an investment in new products and innovative ideas. With the global industry ramping up into high gear, CED is positioned to convert contractors accustomed to manually applying paint and other coatings by brush-and-roller to spray technology.

The Field Service Technician is responsible for delivering high-quality technical service and support to customers by installing, maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing paint timing equipment and systems in the field. This position serves as the primary on-site technical representative and plays a critical role in equipment reliability, customer satisfaction, and fulfillment of service commitments.

What You Will Do at Graco

• Field Service Execution
• Perform on-site installation, startup, calibration, preventive maintenance, and repair of paint tinting equipment and systems.
• Diagnose and resolve mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and basic software issues.
• Follow established service procedures to ensure work is completed safely, accurately, and to the company’s quality standards.
• Customer Support & Experience
• Serve as the primary representative for technical resolution at customer sites.
• Communicate clearly with customers regarding service findings, recommendations, and next steps.
• Ensure service delivery meets customer expectations and service level commitments.
• Service Planning, Documentation & Compliance
• Plan and manage daily service calls within an assigned territory to meet response time and service expectations.
• Accurately complete service reports, work orders, time entries, and expense reports using the company’s systems.
• Manage tools, parts usage, travel, and expenses responsibly.
• Follow all safety policies, procedures, and customer site safety requirements.
• Continuous Improvement & Technical Capability
• Provide phone and remote technical support when not performing on-site service.
• Identify recurring equipment or process issues and share insights with service leadership, engineering, and product teams.
• Serve as a technical expert for assigned products and applications by maintaining current knowledge, certifications, and hands‑on experience.

What You Will Bring to Graco

• Associate degree in a technical field or equivalent relevant field service experience.
• 2+ years of hands-on technical service, maintenance, or repair experience.
• Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills.
• Customer-focused mindset with clear, professional communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and manage time effectively in a field-based role.
• Valid driver’s license and ability to travel regularly within assigned territory.

• Experience servicing industrial equipment or automated systems.
• Experience in manufacturing, industrial, or technical service environments.
• Familiarity with service management systems and mobile service tools.
• Advanced technical training or certifications relevant to relevant products or industries served.
