Key Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality anaesthetic care across agreed clinical services.
• Deliver specialist Pain Medicine services, including the assessment and management of patients with acute and chronic pain conditions.
• Participate in multidisciplinary pain management clinics and collaborative treatment pathways.
• Contribute to the consultant anaesthetic on-call rota.
• Support the ongoing development and enhancement of Anaesthesia and Pain Medicine services.
• Supervise and support junior doctors, trainees, and other healthcare professionals.
• Participate in clinical governance, audit, quality improvement, and service development initiatives.
• Maintain accurate and timely clinical records in accordance with GMC standards.
• Engage in teaching, research, and educational activities where appropriate.
• Undertake Supporting Professional Activities (SPA) including appraisal, revalidation, CPD, and departmental development work.
• Essential Criteria to Apply
• Full GMC registration with a licence to practise.
• Entry on the GMC Specialist Register for Anaesthesia, or within six months of obtaining CCT at the time of interview.
• FRCA or an equivalent recognised qualification.
• Demonstrable experience in Pain Medicine and Anaesthesia at Consultant level or equivalent.
• Commitment to delivering high standards of patient-centred care.
• Evidence of participation in clinical governance and quality improvement activities.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work effectively within multidisciplinary teams.
• Commitment to teaching, training, and continuous professional development.
