- 🩺 Medical Assistant – Hepatology
- 📍 Plaza Location
Join our Hepatology team and play an important role in supporting patients with complex liver conditions while working alongside a collaborative group of providers and healthcare professionals.
What You'll Do
- ✅ Patient Care
- Room patients and obtain vital signs, height, weight, pain assessments, and medical histories
- Review medication lists, allergies, and health information for accuracy
- Prepare patients for examinations, procedures, and provider visits
- Assist providers during examinations and minor procedures as needed
- Perform injections and other approved clinical tasks within scope of practice
- ✅ Hepatology-Specific Responsibilities
- Support care coordination for patients with: Cirrhosis Hepatitis B and Hepatitis C Fatty liver disease (MASLD/MASH) Liver cancer (HCC) Autoimmune liver diseases
- Coordinate imaging appointments including ultrasound, FibroScan®, CT, and MRI
- Facilitate referrals to transplant centers, gastroenterology, oncology, nutrition, and other specialties
- Obtain prior authorizations for specialty medications and treatments
- Communicate provider instructions regarding laboratory work and follow-up care
- ✅ Administrative Responsibilities
- Schedule appointments, procedures, and diagnostic testing
- Manage patient phone calls, portal messages, and follow-up communications
- Maintain accurate electronic medical records (EMR)
- Enter orders, referrals, and medication refill requests according to clinic protocols
- Schedule & Work-Life Balance
- 🕒 Monday-Friday | 7:30 AM - 4:00 PM

- Job Requirements
- Applicable Experience: 1 year
- Basic Life Support - American Heart Association or Red Cross, Basic Life Support - American Heart Association or Red Cross
