Under the direction of the Senior Director of Business Operations, the Associate Director of QPS Strategic Initiatives oversees a portfolio of cross-functional priorities that advance operating capabilities and performance across the six pillars of quality.
A key enabler of the Institute’s quality agenda, the Associate Director leads goal-setting and tracking processes and oversees a team driving coordinated action toward these objectives. By cultivating a culture of best practice-driven project-management, applying systems thinking, and modeling a collaborative, solutions-oriented approach, the Associate Director fosters the alignment, accountability, and focus needed to achieve measurable and sustainable impact.

We conduct groundbreaking research that advances treatment, we educate tomorrow's physician/researchers, and we work with amazing partners, including other Harvard Medical School-affiliated hospitals.

Provides timely insight through effective monitoring and reporting, with defined pathways for elevating risks and accomplishments. Refines work-tracking solutions over time to meet evolving business and stakeholder needs.
- Project Leadership: Manages the most complex projects within the Strategic Initiatives portfolio and serves as the project and change-management lead within QPS for major Institutional endeavors, such as planning for the Clinical Transformation and Lavine Bekenstein Cancer Hospital. Guides multiple quality and operational improvement initiatives from concept through closure. Partners with sponsors and subject-matter experts to define objectives, scope, governance structures, implementation plans, success measures, and sustainment strategies. Mobilizes cross-functional teams to advance work toward intended outcomes, owning both the mechanics and trajectory of the project. Operates from a consultative mindset, anticipating needs, proactively managing resources, dependencies, risks, constraints, and expectations, and escalating barriers with proposed solutions. Effectively engages stakeholders to maintain awareness, alignment, and momentum.
- Project-Management-Practice Championship: Serves as a subject-matter expert and advisor for the practice of project management, promoting a systematic approach from initiation through closure with practical tools and standards that strengthen consistency across QPS. Keeps abreast of advances in the field and adapts best practices to fit the department's culture and business needs.
