- Develop complete electrical design packages for complex control panels and industrial electrical systems with minimal supervision, coordinating technical review with engineering before release.
- Prepare, revise, and check electrical schematics, interconnection diagrams, I/O drawings, network layouts, and panel assembly documentation for accuracy, completeness, and consistency.
- Develop component layouts and wiring documentation for PLC-based control systems, VFDs, motor controls, intrinsically safe systems, communication devices, HMIs, and other advanced components in coordination with engineering.
- Prepare and maintain electrical bills of materials, component identification, and supporting vendor documentation
- Incorporate approved design changes and shop redlines into controlled drawing revisions and final as-built documentation.
- Support point-to-point verification, electrical checkout, and functional testing in accordance with approved procedures by clarifying design intent, investigating drawing discrepancies, and documenting approved corrections.
- Serve as a technical resource for translating workmanship expectations, wiring practices, and applicable UL 508A requirements into clear electrical drawings and panel documentation, coordinating compliance questions with engineering.
- Support internal inspections, nonconformance resolution, and corrective-action activities by investigating design-documentation issues and incorporating approved corrections into affected drawings and bills of materials.
- Develop and maintain standardized design and documentation processes to foster consistent documentation delivery to manufacturing, increasing overall business unit efficiency.
- Share lessons learned from design reviews, fabrication, and testing, and use them to improve standardized drawing practices, work instructions, and training materials.
- Support implementation of engineering automation tools such as document management system and upgraded computer aided design (CAD) tools
