Director, Commercial Legal

Globality is the autonomous sourcing platform to manage the entire intake to award process.

At Globality, we build agentic technology that transforms how global enterprises source goods and services — autonomously, at scale, and without the inefficiencies that have defined procurement for decades. Our platform interprets purchase intent, generates sourcing materials, evaluates suppliers, and executes negotiation strategies without manual intervention.

The Role

Globality is looking for a Director, Commercial Legal to lead commercial contracting on the revenue side of the business. You will own negotiation and structuring of customer-facing agreements, working closely with sales and revenue leadership to close deals efficiently while managing risk appropriately. This is a hands-on, high-autonomy role: you will run the commercial contracting function day to day and be trusted to take positions and close without a layer of review above every deal.

What You Will Do

• Lead negotiation and drafting of customer commercial agreements, including MSAs, order forms, SOWs, and data protection addenda — primarily on customer or third-party paper.
• Partner directly with sales, deal desk, and revenue leadership to structure, negotiate, and close enterprise deals, often under time pressure and with limited negotiating leverage.
• Advise on contract terms for large, regulated enterprise customers, including data privacy, security, and compliance requirements (e.g., GDPR, CCPA, SOC 2, ISO 27001).
• Balance legal risk against commercial pragmatism, escalating judiciously and closing deals without unnecessary friction.
• Collaborate with Security, Privacy, and Compliance teams on data protection terms and regulatory requirements.
• Own the AI-specific terms in customer agreements — training data, model outputs, IP ownership, transparency, and human oversight — and keep Globality's positions current as AI regulation develops.
• Provide clear, business-oriented legal guidance to internal stakeholders across the company.
• Build and refine contracting playbooks, templates, and processes as Globality scales its revenue operations.

What You Bring

• 8+ years of commercial contracting experience, with at least 4 years in a lead role negotiating enterprise SaaS deals.
• Demonstrated experience negotiating directly with large, regulated enterprise customers — including their procurement, security, and privacy functions — on customer or third-party paper.
• Deep fluency in enterprise SaaS commercial terms — limitation of liability and indemnity structures, IP and data rights, SLAs and service credits, subscription and usage-based pricing models, and renewal and termination mechanics — plus working command of GDPR, CCPA, SOC 2, and ISO 27001 as they surface in customer contracts.
• A track record of owning commercial contracting independently — running deals end to end with minimal supervision, taking positions without routine escalation, and knowing precisely when a matter does warrant escalation.
• Comfort contracting for AI and agentic products — able to translate how the technology actually works into defensible terms on data use, model training, outputs, and customer data rights.
• Working knowledge of the AI regulatory landscape as it lands in commercial contracts — the EU AI Act, U.S. state AI and automated-decision-making laws, and evolving expectations on training data, transparency, human oversight, and IP in model inputs and outputs — with the ability to turn that into positions you can hold in a negotiation.
• Exceptional drafting skills, and the ability to give clear, business-oriented guidance to non-lawyers under deal pressure.
• JD and active membership in good standing of at least one U.S. state bar; in-house experience at a high-growth technology company preferred.
• Experience building contracting playbooks, templates, and self-serve processes that let a small legal team support a scaling revenue organization.
• Fluency using AI tools in your own practice — to accelerate review, drafting, and playbook work — paired with the judgment to know where machine output needs a lawyer's verification.
• Experience in procurement, supply chain, or enterprise spend management is a plus, but not required.
• Why Globality
• The opportunity is enormous.
• Enterprise procurement is one of the last major business functions to be transformed by AI. We're not optimizing at the margins — we're fundamentally rethinking how trillions of dollars get spent.
• The team is world-class.
• Our leadership team brings decades of experience from leading global enterprises, and our culture is built for people who want real ownership, not titles.
• You'll have real impact.
• This isn't a role where you execute someone else's playbook. You'll shape the strategy, build the programs, and see the direct business impact of your work.
• We work together — literally.
• We're in-office four days a week in Palo Alto because the best ideas — and the fastest decisions — happen face to face. One day a week is yours to work wherever you’re most effective.
• The anticipated annual pay scale for this position is $200,000-$300,000. Actual salaries will vary depending on factors including but not limited to location, experience, and performance. The range listed is just one component of Globality's total compensation package for employees. This information is provided per the California Equal Pay Act. We are an equal opportunity employer and a participant in the E-Verify program. We believe diversity makes teams better and that discrimination based on race, gender, or anything else is self-defeating.
