The Cornell Experience Modernization Initiative (CEMI) is a multi-year program designed to improve the experience of students, faculty, staff, alumni, donors, patients, and partners by unifying and enhancing administrative systems and processes across all Cornell University locations. Its name CEMI is said as “See Me” because the focus is on you: the people who use Cornell’s systems and data to accomplish your goals.
Data and Analytics Within CEMI , the Data & Analytics focus will unify data sources to create an accessible golden record. Historically, Cornell’s data has resembled pieces of a puzzle—each campus and department holds different pieces, but university leadership needs to see the complete picture to make informed decisions. Cornell’s fragmented reporting systems make it difficult to gather and analyze data across the university, hindering our ability to gain comprehensive insights.
Creating a unified approach to data management and analytics will help Cornell make better-informed decisions that serve our entire community.
Before building effective university-wide analytics, it is critical to establish a common data language and understanding across all units. This foundation will support CEMI’s broader goal of creating integrated, efficient systems that enable data-driven decision-making across Cornell.
Bachelor's degree and 3-5 years related experience or equivalent combination of education and relevant experience may be considered.
Experience supporting organizational change initiatives with demonstrated knowledge of change management principles, methodologies, and tools.
Proven ability to influence, build consensus, and achieve alignment among diverse stakeholder groups, including senior leaders.
Demonstrated ability to quickly establish credibility, build trust, and navigate competing priorities within complex, decentralized organizations.
Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to independently identify, assess, and address challenges.
Excellent written, verbal, presentation, and facilitation skills, with the ability to communicate complex concepts clearly and effectively.
Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines while maintaining a high level of quality and attention to detail.
Experience working collaboratively across onsite, hybrid, and remote teams.
Commitment to fostering an environment that supports inclusion, belonging, wellbeing, and respect.
Ability to cultivate productive relationships with students, faculty, staff, leaders, and community members.
Proficiency with Microsoft 365 applications, including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Teams, and SharePoint.
Strong collaboration, professionalism, and stakeholder relationship management skills.
Ability to cultivate and develop inclusive working relationships with students, faculty, staff, and community members.
