Job Description:
Discover and Innovate as a Mechanical Engineer Summer Intern at EH Wachs! Your Gateway to Real-World Engineering Awaits.
As a Mechanical Engineering Intern with EH Wachs you will contribute to the development and testing of products that support the business's growth initiatives. This internship provides hands-on experience applying engineering principles to real-world product development challenges while building practical skills in design, testing, data analysis, and technical communication.
Working alongside experienced engineers, you'll gain exposure to the engineering processes and cross-functional collaboration that bring innovative products from concept to market.
What You’ll Do
- Support prototype development, product testing, and evaluation activities.
- Create and update CAD drawings and 3D models using SolidWorks.
- Support Engineering Change activities to improve existing product performance and address field issues.
- Analyze test data using Excel and other analytical tools to identify trends, investigate results, and support root cause analysis.
- Create work instructions and technical reports that communicate test procedures, results, and recommendations clearly and accurately.
- Collaborate with engineering and cross-functional teams to troubleshoot issues, share findings, and support new product development and product improvement activities.
What You Need to Succeed
Must-Have
Currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering
Strong mechanical aptitude, curiosity and a desire to learn and apply new knowledge.
Working knowledge of SolidWorks or other 3D CAD modeling tools, and fundamental engineering principles.
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.
Strong critical-thinking and problem-solving skills.
Initiative, perseverance, and a strong work ethic.
Strong written and verbal communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively in a team environment.
Disciplined personality with self-driven organization and time-management skills.
Nice-to-Have
Previous engineering internship, laboratory, project team, or other hands-on technical experience.
Experience with product testing, technical documentation, data analysis, or root cause analysis.
Exposure to industrial products, manufacturing environments, or related industries.
Compensation
Compensation Information:
The base pay rate will depend on the successful candidate’s qualifications and prior experience. The range for this position is: $ 24.00 - $28.00 per hour.
