Software Engineering Intern, Summer 2027

Crusoe is on a mission to accelerate the abundance of energy and intelligence

. As the only vertically integrated AI infrastructure company built from the ground up, we own and operate each layer of the stack — from electrons to tokens — to power the world's most ambitious AI workloads. When you join Crusoe, you join a team that is building the future, faster.

We're in the midst of the greatest industrial revolution of our time. The demand for AI compute is boundless, and power is a bottleneck. We're solving that — with an energy-first approach that makes AI infrastructure better for the world and faster for the people innovating with AI.

We're looking for problem-solving, opportunity-finding teammates with a sense of urgency, who believe in the scale of our ambition and thrive on a path not fully paved — people who want to grow their careers alongside a team of experts across energy, manufacturing, data center construction, and cloud services.

If you want to do the most meaningful work of your career, help our customers and partners advance their AI strategies, and be part of a high-performing team that believes in each other, come build with us at Crusoe.

About the Role:

As a Software Engineering Intern, you’ll join a growing, diverse, and mission-driven team building a new cloud infrastructure from the ground up and work at the forefront of distributed system technologies. You’ll have the opportunity to work on a range of projects across our platform that enables innovation in computationally intensive fields including artificial intelligence, graphics rendering and computational biology.

You’ll collaborate with other engineers to build and maintain scalable and highly available fault-tolerant distributed systems at scale, build products and tools from the ground up that will be used by customers around the world, triage bugs and solve issues in production, and work with product owners and other stakeholders to iterate on new features.

What You'll Be Working On:

Software Engineering Interns may work within one of these three organizations based on your interest and business needs:

Product focused — Managed Cloud

We build the parts of Crusoe Cloud that customers actually use: the UI they log into, the command-line tool they type into, and the APIs their code talks to. You'll ship features that real customers use before your internship ends.

Good fit if you like: full-stack or backend web development. Languages: Go, TypeScript/React.

Systems focused — Cloud Availability

Crusoe runs tens of thousands of GPUs, and our job is keeping them all healthy — mostly by writing software that detects and fixes problems automatically instead of waking someone up at 3am. You'll build tools that replace manual work at real scale.

Good fit if you like: automation, scripting, and figuring out why things break. Languages: Go and Python.

Infra focused — Cloud Infrastructure

We build the layer everything else runs on — the compute, storage, and networking that turn racks of servers into a cloud, plus Crusoe Managed Kubernetes, the product customers use to run containers on our GPUs. Work ranges from operating-system-level code to building Kubernetes controllers and operators.

Good fit if you like: operating systems, distributed systems, or Kubernetes. Languages: mostly Go.

What You'll Bring to the Team:

• Educational Background: You are currently pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering or a related field preferably graduating between Fall 2027 and Spring 2028.
• Programming: You are familiar with coding in a language such as Python, Java, C++, JavaScript, Rust, Go, etc.
• Foundational Knowledge: You're familiar with computer science fundamentals, including data structures and algorithm design.
• Collaborative Mindset: You are a proactive communicator who enjoys working closely with a team to solve challenging problems.
• Problem-Solving Skills: You have a curious and analytical mindset with a talent for troubleshooting and optimizing complex systems.
• Our Internship Program
• Our 12-week, in-person program pairs high-impact work with one-on-one mentorship and direct access to leaders across the organization. You'll gain hands-on experience that goes beyond the classroom. The program is built to support your professional growth and help you forge valuable connections within Crusoe and beyond.
• We're looking for motivated, talented people who are eager to take on real responsibility and make a real impact. Are you ready to join the Future Cru?
• 2027 Summer Internship Dates (choose one cohort): May 24 – August 13, 2027
• June 14 – September 3, 2027
