From QXO's posting. “We” and “our” refer to the employer.
QXO is a leading distributor and installer of building products serving an $800 billion market. The company’s mission is to modernize the building products industry through advanced technology and a best-in-class customer experience. QXO is North America’s largest distributor and installer of insulation, the second-largest distributor of roofing products, the second-largest publicly traded distributor of lumber and building materials, and the largest distributor of waterproofing products.
The company is targeting $50 billion in annual revenue within the decade through accretive acquisitions and organic growth. For more information, visit QXO.com.
Stack: Python and TypeScript with React, on Google Cloud, with a modern cloud data warehouse and AI models from multiple providers.
Data: transaction, pricing, customer, and operational data from the largest publicly traded distributor of roofing and waterproofing products in the United States, including the businesses it acquires.
Users: sales, operations, finance, and executive teams across QXO.
The Staff AI Engineer, Full-Stack shapes the product experience of QXO's data and AI platform. This role leads the application architecture and sets the engineering standards that allow teams across QXO to build on the platform, so its judgment influences how multiple teams design, build, and ship.
The role combines product judgment with deep technical ownership: what users see, how the application is structured, and how AI capabilities are presented so people can trust and act on them. It partners with business leaders on what the platform should do, and with the engineers who own the AI services on how AI appears in the product.
The Impact You'll Have
Define the application architecture and technical direction for the platform's user experience.
Create a consistent, extensible product experience that new capabilities and new teams can build on.
Design how AI appears in the product: showing where answers come from, communicating uncertainty, and capturing user feedback.
Expand the platform's adoption and usefulness across sales, operations, and finance, guided by how people use it.
Raise the engineering bar across teams through design reviews, code reviews, and mentoring
Paid Time Off/Paid Sick Leave: Applicants can expect to accrue 15 days of paid time off during their first year (4.62 hours for every 80 hours worked) and increased accruals after five years of service.
