Product Manager, ADAPT

Citian is a fast growing, venture backed SaaS technology company based in Washington, DC. Our software solutions revolutionize how our transportation and infrastructure systems – roads, rail, transit, bicycle, pedestrian – operate.

Our tech solutions:

• Reduce traffic fatalities
• Enhance pedestrian accessibility
• Empower system operators to save time & money

You’ll work with some of the brightest minds in the software and transportation industries. Our engineers and data scientists apply the latest in emerging tech, Artificial Intelligence, and Machine Learning to build smarter, more advanced tools for our diverse client base. We work with clients across the United States, with global ambitions in the years ahead.

Who You Are:

As a Product Manager, you will lead the strategy and execution for ADAPT, our roadway and right-of-way asset management platform for public agencies. ADAPT is growing quickly, and part of the job is defining the product with customers: who it’s for, what it does, and what it doesn’t.  You will own the ADAPT roadmap while working closely with the engineering, design, data science, and go-to-market teams to deliver impactful features that drive adoption and measurable customer value.

Our products are data and models first, sold to state and local governments, so getting the data right matters as much as the features.

What You’ll Do

• Define and own the product vision, strategy, and roadmap for both products, including deciding what not to build and when to invest in scalability and quality over new features.
• Partner with design and engineering to deliver intuitive, high-quality user experiences
• Work with data science to define what good data and model output looks like, and how we measure it.
• For the AI product: find where AI genuinely helps agencies, validate it with customers before building, and decide with engineering when a feature is ready to ship.
• Work with engineering and data science to set the quality bar for AI features: what a correct answer is, when the product should say it can't answer, and how quality is tracked in production.
• Develop features that leverage automation and AI to reduce manual effort and improve outcomes
• Work closely with existing clients to understand their pain points and validate solutions
• Bring enterprise needs into the roadmap: reliability, security, permissions, and administration for larger agency customers.
• Establish clear success metrics (e.g., engagement rates, conversion, time saved, adoption)
• Collaborate with go-to-market teams to drive successful launches and adoption
• Required Qualifications: 5+ years of product management experience, ideally in SaaS or GovTech
• Has shipped customer-facing AI or LLM features to production, and can explain how quality was defined and measured
• Has owned the roadmap for a growing product, including trade-offs between new features and investment in scalability, reliability and quality
• Experience with complex data, analytics, or AI/ML products and GovTech or another complex compliance or technical domain (healthcare, finance, security, etc.)
• Strong understanding of user workflows and building for non-technical users at scale
• Ability to translate complex problems or client requirements into simple solutions
• Data-driven mindset with experience defining and tracking product metrics
• Uses AI tools day to day
• Comfortable in a startup-style setting with lightweight structure. You'll be one of our first PMs and will help build the product function as it matures
• Proven ability to work cross-functionally with our engineering and product teams and influence without authority
• Strong communication skills with both technical and non-technical stakeholders

Preferred Qualifications:

• Familiarity with state and local governments and/or public sector transportation
• Geospatial or mapping product experience
• Experience growing an AI product from first release to wide customer adoption
• Your Citian Advantage: Competitive salary and benefits package including medical, dental, and vision insurance and generous PTO.
• 401(k) company match and monthly commuter transportation benefit
