ABOUT THE SITE
Anduril, a leader in autonomous systems and weapons manufacturing, is building Arsenal-1, its first hyper-scale manufacturing facility, just south of Columbus, Ohio in Pickaway County. Arsenal-1 is redefining the scale and speed at which autonomous systems and weapons can be produced for the United States and its allies and partners. This is a monumental and essential step toward rebuilding America’s defense industrial base, strengthening America’s warfighting capabilities, and enhancing deterrence amid rising international threats.
ABOUT THE JOB
We are seeking a Senior Maintenance Supervisor to help stand up and lead the maintenance and reliability function at Arsenal-1. This is a ground-floor leadership role: you will build the maintenance organization from the ground up — hiring and developing the technician team, establishing preventive and predictive maintenance programs, standing up the CMMS and asset data, and partnering with facilities, controls, and production to keep a hyper-scale manufacturing operation running at high availability.
You will own the reliability of the equipment and systems that our production depends on, set the standard for how maintenance is done at the site, and grow a team that keeps the line up as we ramp.
This is a highly dynamic, hands-on role that requires both frontline technical depth and people-leadership skills. You will be on the floor, solving problems with your team, while building the programs, discipline, and culture that make maintenance a competitive advantage for the site.
WHAT YOU’LL DO
- Build, lead, coach, and mentor the Arsenal-1 maintenance technician team — from the first hires through a scaled, multi-shift organization — developing skills, cross-training, and a strong safety-first culture.
- Stand up and own the preventive, predictive, and reactive maintenance programs for production equipment, tooling, and facility-critical systems, driving toward high equipment availability and uptime.
- Establish and administer the computerized maintenance management system (CMMS), including asset hierarchy, PM schedules, work-order workflows, and spare-parts/MRO inventory, and keep the data accurate as the single source of truth.
- Direct daily maintenance operations — prioritize and assign work orders, clear blockers, and balance planned PM against emergent breakdowns to protect the production schedule.
- Lead rapid troubleshooting and repair of mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and controls issues on the floor, minimizing downtime and getting equipment back into production quickly.
- Drive root-cause analysis and corrective action on recurring failures, tracking issues to closure and feeding improvements back into PM plans and standard work.
- Ensure all maintenance work follows safety procedures, lockout/tagout, and standard work; proactively identify and drive safety improvement opportunities.
- Partner with facilities, controls/automation, manufacturing engineering, production, supply chain, and EHS to support new equipment installation, commissioning, and readiness, and to design for maintainability up front.
- Develop and manage spare-parts strategy, critical-spares inventory, and vendor/service relationships to support total cost of ownership.
- Build and manage maintenance KPIs (uptime, MTBF, MTTR, PM compliance, backlog) and provide a regular report-out of reliability performance, blockers, risks, and needs.
- Be an active participant in and champion of 5S and continuous improvement activities across the maintenance organization.
- Support capital and equipment planning by providing reliability input, maintainability requirements, and lifecycle cost perspective.
- Show up every day with extreme urgency and enthusiasm to keep the line running and get the job done.
- REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
- 3+ years leading or supervising maintenance, reliability, or skilled-trades teams in a manufacturing or industrial environment.
- Demonstrated hands-on technical depth across mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and/or controls systems, with proven equipment troubleshooting skills.
- Experience building and executing preventive and predictive maintenance programs and driving measurable improvements in equipment availability and uptime.
- Working knowledge of a CMMS / EAM system for work orders, PM scheduling, and asset/spares management.
- Strong understanding of root-cause analysis and corrective-action methodologies (e.g., 5-Why, FMEA).
- Experience managing MRO / spare-parts inventory and vendor or service-provider relationships.
- Solid grasp of workplace safety practices, lockout/tagout, and electrical safety.
- Can interpret technical documentation — mechanical drawings, electrical schematics, P&IDs, equipment specs, and OEM manuals.
- Willing and able to work on hardware hands-on and prefer to be on the production floor, adapting easily to a constantly changing environment.
- Passion for employee development and the process of training and developing both new hires and veteran technicians.
- Knowledge of 5S, Lean manufacturing, or Six Sigma principles.
- Proficient with MS Office programs (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Project).
- Extremely reliable, organized, and detail-oriented with excellent written and verbal communication skills.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in a technical field (engineering, industrial maintenance, or applied science), or equivalent trade/journeyman certification.
- Experience standing up a maintenance organization or program from the ground up in a new or ramping facility.
- Lean Six Sigma Green Belt certified.
- Reliability certifications such as CMRP (Certified Maintenance & Reliability Professional) or CRL.
- Working knowledge of AS9100 standards and OSHA regulations.
- Experience with industrial automation, robotics, PLCs, and controls maintenance.
- Experience maintaining electrical and mechanical assembly and integration equipment.
- Forklift and hoisting/rigging certification a plus.
- Experience ramping low-volume manufacturing to high rate.
- Extensive hiring and organizational design experience.
