From Game Day Signals's posting. “We” and “our” refer to the employer.
Game Day Signals makes electronic sign-calling wristbands and the software coaches use to send plays and signs to players during games. It works quickly and securely, with no cell signal needed. Our motto is Simple. Fast. Secure.
We're a small, profitable team of about five people. We're a real business with real customers, not a pre-revenue startup. We're the Official and Exclusive Baseball & Softball One-Way Electronic Communication Partner of the NFHS (National Federation of State High School Associations). Our iOS and Android app launches in November 2026, and we're expanding from baseball and softball into football, which is a big new market.
Why you'll love working here
Real ownership. You'll own the whole software platform that every one of our customers touches. You won't be one engineer among dozens, and you won't be stuck in a narrow lane.
Autonomy. After a hands-on ramp-up with our founder, you'll make the technical calls and ship to production and the app stores on your own. Nobody will sign off on every step.
Room to grow the product. You'll lead our expansion into football from design through launch and set the technical roadmap. Your work will directly shape where the company goes.
A modern, AI-first way of building. Cursor, AI coding agents, and the latest models are part of daily work, and every release runs through CI/CD.
No bureaucracy. You'll work with a small, close team, make decisions quickly, and see the effect of your work right away.
We're looking for one engineer to own our entire software platform: the mobile app, the web app, the API, and the database. You'll start by getting up to speed with our founder. Then the platform is yours, including production deploys and app store releases.
You won't own the embedded C firmware on the devices; our firmware engineer handles that. You'll work with him closely on how the app talks to the devices.
At 90 days, you're running the full local stack and know the architecture end to end. You've shipped at least one mobile release to both app stores and at least one production web or API deploy on your own. You understand our auth setup, CI/CD pipelines, and database migration process, and you're already improving the codebase.
At 6 months, you're clearly the technical owner of the platform. You ship releases on a steady schedule, lead football features from design through launch, and have improved reliability, monitoring, and test coverage. You keep the technical roadmap current, and our founder has moved into an advisory role.
