From DEPT®'s posting. “We” and “our” refer to the employer.
DEPT® is a Growth Invention company built to help the world’s most ambitious brands grow faster. Operating at the intersection of technology and marketing, our 4,000+ specialists deliver growth invention services across Brand & Media, Experience, Commerce, CRM, and Technology & Data. We’re 50|50 tech and marketing, partner-led, and first to move. Clients include Google, Lufthansa, Meta, eBay, and OpenAI. We have been certified B Corp and Climate Neutral since 2021.
JOB PURPOSE
If you’re a social-first creative who knows TikTok, META, YouTube and internet culture inside out, and loves turning strong ideas into brilliant content, we want to hear from you.
This is a hands-on role where you’ll develop, film and edit social-first content that connects with audiences, taps into culture and helps our clients stand out. Working across platforms including TikTok, Instagram and YouTube, you’ll create primarily for organic social, with opportunities to develop and adapt creative for paid campaigns.
You’ll bring proven content creation experience and the confidence to take ownership of assigned briefs from concept through to delivery. That means developing original ideas, recommending an approach, planning content capture and delivering work that meets the brief, brand and platform requirements.
You’ll work closely with Creative, Strategy, Community, Account and Media colleagues, bringing your own perspective and judgement while drawing on specialist expertise. Senior creatives will provide direction and agreed check-ins, with the expectation that you can move your work forward independently, recognise when input is needed and raise challenges early.
Regularly appearing on camera is an expected part of this role. Your image, voice and likeness will feature in content created for clients’ organic social channels. Content featuring you may also be considered for paid media, subject to appropriate usage terms, approvals and DEPT® policies.
No two days will look the same. You might be leading a small content shoot, filming on location, creating something reactive from the office or collaborating on a larger production. Location shoots and travel are a genuine part of the role, so you’ll need to be comfortable working in different environments and travelling where required.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Develop original social-first ideas: Interpret briefs and independently develop creative concepts that combine audience understanding, cultural relevance and each client’s brand objectives. Bring a clear recommendation on how ideas should come to life.
- Own content from brief to delivery: Plan, film and edit assigned content, taking responsibility for the quality, accuracy and timely delivery of your work, with agreed creative reviews and approvals.
- Plan and lead content capture: Own the creative preparation and delivery of smaller content shoots, including formats, shot lists, props and capture requirements. Collaborate with senior creatives and production colleagues on larger or more complex shoots.
- Appear on camera: Regularly feature in the content you create, bringing confidence, personality and an understanding of the client’s tone to presenting and other on-camera activity.
- Identify cultural and reactive opportunities: Proactively recommend relevant trends, conversations and emerging formats, bringing an original creative angle and sound judgement about what is right for each brand.
- Deliver strong platform-native craft: Apply confident filming, editing and storytelling skills to create effective hooks, narratives and formats. Adapt content thoughtfully for different platforms, audiences and client tones of voice.
- Develop and adapt paid social creative: Collaborate with Creative and Media colleagues on content for paid campaigns, developing variations in hooks, messaging, formats and calls to action that support the brief.
- Apply performance learnings: Work with Social, Strategy and Media colleagues to interpret results, identify creative learnings and recommend and deliver improvements to future content.
- Present and recommend: Confidently present ideas and work in internal and client conversations, explain your creative decisions and respond constructively to feedback. Flag changes that affect the agreed brief, timing or production requirements.
- Manage your creative workload: Balance planned activity with reactive opportunities, coordinate dependencies with colleagues and raise competing priorities or delivery risks early.
- Spot community-led opportunities: Identify interesting comments, conversations and community behaviours, suggesting creative responses or content opportunities for Community Managers to activate.
- Support junior colleagues: Share production skills, platform knowledge and constructive creative feedback, helping junior content creatives develop their craft and solve practical challenges. This does not include formal line management.
- Experiment and improve: Propose and test new formats, production techniques and creative approaches, sharing useful learnings with the wider team.
- Publishing, channel management, community management and moderation are not responsibilities of this role. You will contribute creative expertise while working with the colleagues who own strategy, media, account management and production responsibilities.

- WHT DEPT?
We are a Growth Invention company built to help the world’s most ambitious brands grow faster. Operating at the intersection of technology and marketing, we create what is next by pioneering ideas, acting fast, and moving further because standing still just is not in our DNA.
We are drawn to people who stay curious, move with intent, and never stop inventing. Our culture runs on three values: better together, relentlessly curious, and get sh*t done. It is how we work, how we grow, and how we make things that matter.
At DEPT®, you will find the freedom to explore, the space to collaborate, and the trust to make a real impact for our clients, for each other, and for the world we are helping to build.
DIVERSITY, EQUITY & INCLUSION
At DEPT®, we take pride in creating an inclusive workplace where everyone has an equal opportunity to thrive. We actively seek to recruit, develop, nurture, and retain talented individuals from diverse backgrounds, with varying skills and perspectives.
Not sure you meet all qualifications? Apply, and let us decide! Research shows that women and members of underrepresented groups tend not to apply for jobs when they think they may not meet every requirement, when in fact they do. We believe in giving everyone a fair chance to shine.
We also encourage you to reach out to us and discuss any reasonable adjustments we can make to support you throughout the recruitment process and your time with us.
