Job Description
The University of Nevada, Las Vegas invites applications for OBGYN Generalist, Assistant/Associate Professor, Gynecologic Surgery & Obstetrics Department, Kirk Kerkorian School of Medicine.
ROLE of the POSITION
The Gynecologic Surgery & Obstetrics (GSO) department is seeking candidates at the Assistant/Associate Professor level. We are looking for Laborist and General OBGYN physicians.
The Generalist role will involve outpatient and consultative care at the School of Medicine OBGYN outpatient centers. The Laborist role will cover labor and delivery shifts at our contracted hospitals.
The successful candidates will participate in medical student, resident education and supervision and have an interest in scholarly activities. Advanced laparoscopic/robotic skills are a plus. Proven abilities in the areas of medical student and resident education, clinical research, health outcomes or education outcomes research is desirable.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
This position requires a MD or DO from an accredited college or university as recognized by the United States Department of Education and/or the Council on Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA) and completion of ACGME accredited residency program. Candidates must be board eligible or board certified. If board eligible, certification must be completed within the first two years of employment.
Credentials must be obtained prior to the employment start date. Candidates must be eligible for an unrestricted Nevada medical license, Nevada pharmacy and DEA licenses, and malpractice insurance. They must also meet credentialing requirements and be able to obtain privileges at affiliated hospitals and other site locations as needed.
The candidate’s educational credentials, terminal degree, experience in an academic medical institution or equivalency, research and scholarly activity will be considered in determining the candidate’s recommended rank. The SOM Faculty Appointment, Promotion, and Tenure (FAPT) Committee will use the Kirk Kerkorian School of Medicine at UNLV (SOM) promotion criteria to recommend rank to the Dean of the SOM.
Tenure consideration may be given upon hire on a case by case basis depending on verified previous credentials, the FAPT recommendation, and SOM Dean's recommendation.
