Basis is seeking an experienced Strategic Account Partner to grow and deepen relationships with our largest and most innovative clients.

As a key member of the GTM team, you will serve as the strategic lead for a portfolio of our largest clients. You will help align teams across Basis and each client, lead growth initiatives, and ensure clients realize the full value of their investment. You will build durable executive relationships, establish clear account strategies, and maintain strong partnership health.

You will manage a portfolio of high-impact accounts as a trusted partner, with ownership of long-term value creation. You will identify upsell and cross-sell opportunities, drive measurable business outcomes, and help strengthen the Strategic Accounts function through cross-team initiatives.

Success in this role requires building relationships across customer organizations; executives, technical experts, legal, operations, and other functions. You will set the vision for each client partnership, earn support for broad adoption, and coordinate Basis teams to deliver against shared priorities. You will report to the Head of Strategic Accounts.

Responsibilities:

• Navigate complex organizations and build consensus across diverse stakeholders with developed multi-threaded executive relationships.
• Design and execute account strategies that meet or exceed retention and growth targets. Analyze each client’s business, priorities, and market context to translate long-term plans into focused account initiatives.
• Lead expansion by identifying new use cases, business units, and stakeholders within assigned accounts. Spearheading the sale for existing contracted areas and working with Account Executive on expanding contract opportunities.
• Expectation of travel approximately 30–60% of the time of the time to support strategic customer relationships, partner engagements, industry events, and business priorities.
• Build and execute multi-year account plans that align customer goals with Basis growth objectives, clarify ownership, and create accountability across both organizations.
• Orchestrate internal teams (including executive leadership, Account Executives, Solution Consultants, Customer Success, Deployed Intelligence, Partnerships, Marketing, Support, and Revenue Operations) to remove blockers and deliver proactive outcomes.
• Drive retention and expansion strategy, including opportunity development, forecasting, negotiation, and closing.
• Define and manage the executive relationship strategy for each account. Engage Basis leaders as executive sponsors and lead executive business reviews that support retention and growth.
• Represent Basis at customer events, industry forums, and executive gatherings to strengthen our brand and strategic position.

Qualifications:

• 9+ years in technology sales, strategic account management, business development, or equivalent experience.
• Experience working with top 100 accounting firms, Fortune 500 companies, or similarly complex enterprise customers.
• Proven success developing and executing account strategies for large, strategic clients.
• Exceptional relationship-building skills, including the ability to build multi-threaded relationships and align stakeholders across large organizations.
• Experience identifying, developing, negotiating, and closing large, complex technology deals with enterprise customers. Strong consultative selling skills and the ability to become a strategic partner rather than a vendor.
• Executive presence and experience presenting to and negotiating with C-suite leaders, finance, IT, business teams, procurement, legal, and internal stakeholders.
• Experience selling emerging technologies or complex solutions to large enterprises.
• Strong cross-functional collaboration with teams across product, engineering, customer success, partnerships, and other functions.
• Resourceful problem solver who can navigate ambiguity and move complex initiatives forward.
• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field or equivalent professional experience.
• Passion for AI and emerging technologies, with enthusiasm for helping the accounting industry adopt AI responsibly.
• Builder mindset and interest in shaping the playbook for a rapidly scaling function.
• High ownership and urgency; able to move quickly without waiting for perfect information.
