- 🩺 Medical Assistant – Gastroenterology (GI)
- 📍 South Location – Overland Park
Join Saint Luke's Gastroenterology team and play an important role in providing exceptional care to patients with digestive and gastrointestinal health needs. This position offers a blend of direct patient care, care coordination, and administrative responsibilities in a fast-paced specialty clinic environment.
What You'll Do
- ✅ Patient Care
- Perform pre-visit planning to help ensure efficient and effective patient visits
- Room patients and obtain vital signs, medical histories, and other clinical information
- Review medications, allergies, and health information for accuracy
- Conduct telephone screening using established protocols
- Prepare patients for provider visits and assist with clinic flow
- Deliver excellent customer service while maintaining a professional and compassionate demeanor
- ✅ Gastroenterology Support
- Support patients receiving care for a variety of gastrointestinal conditions
- Assist with patient education and follow-up care coordination
- Communicate provider instructions regarding testing, procedures, medications, and follow-up appointments
- Coordinate referrals, diagnostic testing, and specialty procedures as directed
- ✅ Administrative Responsibilities
- Utilize the EMR system for documentation and patient care coordination
- Scan and upload documents into the electronic medical record
- Schedule appointments, testing, and follow-up visits
- Maintain accurate patient records and documentation
- Provide front office coverage as needed
- Perform additional duties based on clinic needs
