Job Description
The College of Education and Human Development at Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi invites applications for a 9-Month, Tenure-Track position of Educational Administration at the rank of Advanced Assistant or Associate Professor in the Department of Educational Leadership. The position may begin as early as Fall 2027 semester.
The Department of Educational Leadership is committed to advancing educational leadership across all educational settings. We offer five graduate programs of study, including the M.S. in Educational Administration and the Ed.D. in Educational Leadership with a concentration in the Principalship and Superintendency. Both emphasize the preparation of educational leaders who can draw upon research, theory, and evidence to address complex problems of practice and lead meaningful change in schools, districts, and communities.
Our programs are designed to connect scholarship with practice, preparing leaders to engage thoughtfully with organizational change, policy, and the various needs of the students and communities they serve.
The primary responsibilities of this position include:
(1) teaching graduate-level courses in the Educational Administration M.S. and Ed.D. in Educational Leadership programs, including core and applied-research topics; (2) sustaining and leading an active research agenda commensurate with a Carnegie Research 2 institution, with an emphasis on producing impactful scholarship and pursuing external funding opportunities; (3) disseminating research findings through peer-reviewed publications, practitioner outlets, and scholarly conferences; (4) advising and mentoring graduate
students, including chairing and serving on dissertation committees; and
(5) supporting student recruitment and retention in both the M.S. and Ed.D. programs.
We seek a scholar with PK–12 educational leadership experience who will help advance the University’s mission and prepare current and future educational leaders. More specifically, we seek a colleague prepared to teach graduate courses in the M.S. in Educational Administration and Ed.D. in Educational Leadership programs, particularly in areas such as school and district leadership, organizational leadership and change, educational policy, principal preparation, and related areas of PK–12 leadership practice.
The successful candidate will maintain an active research agenda related to educational leadership, organizations, policy, leadership practice, or other issues affecting PK–12 schools and communities; contribute to the preparation and mentoring of graduate students as educational leaders and scholar-practitioners; and support the continued growth, recruitment, and retention of students in the department’s graduate programs.
