Employer Job Description
From TwoSeven Inc.'s posting. “We” and “our” refer to the employer.
We are seeking a highly organized, solution-driven Production Manager to lead the execution of fast-paced creative projects. Reporting to the Production Director and working closely with Project Managers, this role combines production planning, cross-department coordination, and hands-on fabrication expertise.
The Production Manager leads assigned projects or accounts from prototyping and sampling through fabrication, finishing, logistics, installation, strike, and closeout. The ideal candidate is resourceful, collaborative, curious, and adaptable, bringing sound judgment and a practical understanding of project scope and constraints to deliver work on time, within budget, and to the highest standards of quality.
Salary Range: $80,000 - $110,000, commensurate with experience, plus comprehensive benefits.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
Project Planning & Team Coordination
Serve as production lead on assigned projects or accounts, partnering with Project Managers to translate scope, schedules, and budgets into actionable production plans.
Coordinate production across departments and capabilities, including design, digital fabrication, fabrication, metal, electrical, print, paint, soft goods, and installation.
Manage production schedules, sequencing, and department handoffs; lead regular check-ins on progress and next steps.
Create clear production instructions and maintain version-controlled documents, schedules, progress updates, and photos in the required planning and tracking systems.
Production Resources & Cost Control
Advise Project Managers on materials, hardware, production methods, and labor needs during estimating and planning.
Coordinate labor, materials, and shop capacity with the Production Director, Department Heads, and Lead Fabricators.
Track labor and expenses against budgets, assessing the cost, quality, and schedule impacts of production changes.
Anticipate production risks, develop cost-effective solutions, and escalate technical, staffing, or schedule constraints early.
Design, Production & Quality Control
Participate in client meetings and design reviews to resolve construction details and confirm feasibility before production.
Lead prototyping and sampling to validate materials, finishes, assemblies, and production methods, coordinating required approvals with Project Managers before full production.
Inspect work against drawings, approved samples, and structural and safety requirements; resolve or escalate defects before packing or handover.
Remain actively involved in fabrication and assembly as needed while maintaining oversight of assigned production.
Support research and testing of new materials, techniques, and fabrication technology.
Installation & Strike Management
Coordinate installation and strike planning with project teams, incorporating site conditions and requirements into production sequencing, logistics, and site protection.
Oversee packing, crating, labeling, staging, and shipping preparation to prevent damage and support efficient installation.
Lead or support on-site installation and strike as assigned, coordinating coverage and handoffs between site and shop teams.
Complete outstanding production work and coordinate material returns, storage, reuse, or disposal, and production closeout.
Team & Process Development
Mentor assigned fabricators and support skill development with Department Heads.
Provide team performance feedback and document concerns for review by Department Heads and the Production Director.
Participate in interviewing and evaluating fabrication candidates as requested.
Contribute production feedback and cost analysis to post-project reviews and process improvements.
Develop production tools, templates, and workflows that improve planning and communication.
Support peers and the Production Director with production coverage as assigned.
