ABOUT STORD
Stord is The Consumer Experience Company, powering seamless checkout through delivery for today's leading brands. Stord is rapidly growing and strategically scaling teams across the entire company, and seeking energetic experts to help us achieve our mission.
By combining comprehensive commerce-enablement technology with high-volume fulfillment services, Stord provides brands a platform to compete with retail giants. Stord manages over $10 billion of commerce annually through its fulfillment, warehousing, transportation, and operator-built software suite including OMS, Pre- and Post-Purchase, and WMS platforms. Stord is leveling the playing field for all brands to deliver the best consumer experience at scale.
With Stord, brands can increase cart conversion, improve unit economics, and drive sustained customer loyalty. Stord’s end-to-end commerce solutions combine best-in-class omnichannel fulfillment and shipping with leading technology to ensure fast shipping, reliable delivery promises, easy access to more channels, and improved margins on every order.
Hundreds of leading DTC and B2B companies like True Classic, Native, Seed Health, goodr, Sundays for Dogs, and more trust Stord to deliver industry-leading consumer experiences on every order. Stord is headquartered in Atlanta with facilities across the United States, Canada, and Europe. Stord is backed by top-tier investors including Kleiner Perkins, Franklin Templeton, Founders Fund, Strike Capital, Baillie Gifford, and Salesforce Ventures.
The Service Partner Network (SPN) is how Stord extends its reach beyond its own sites. As Head of SPN, you will build and lead a network of 3PL partners that works alongside our owned fulfillment network, adding regional coverage, specialized handling and capacity. You will use Stord's growth forecasts to shape network topology and capacity, then own the execution. We are looking for deep 3PL operations knowledge, a commitment to continuous improvement and a customer-first mindset.
This senior role is how we make sure space never limits a customer's growth, including customers whose products, volumes or regional needs call for more than our owned sites offer today.
The Head will lead the SPN team and the network of 3PL partners it manages, and will partner closely with Sales, Implementations and Transportation. This is a strategic, hands-on leadership role requiring significant experience operating and leading large 3PL operations, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-growth environment.
What You'll Do
- Define the long-term vision and operating model for SPN.
- Design network topology around required regional coverage, customer density, transit-time targets, product requirements and cost-to-serve.
- Own the partner portfolio: decide where to expand, consolidate, dual-source or exit, and manage concentration and resilience risk.
- Build a multi-year roadmap for the future-state team, systems and processes needed to support network growth.
- Build a robust partner vetting process necessary to protect the Stord business and its customers.
- Translate Sales pipeline and growth forecasts into capacity requirements by region, partner and quarter, and secure capacity ahead of demand so available space is never a constraint on growth.
- Lead RFP activity end to end: define requirements, evaluate partners, negotiate commercial terms and service levels, and award.
- Establish a partner vetting and onboarding process, including financial risk review, so partners and new sites meet Stord's quality, safety and systems standards.
- Run SPN governance, including scorecards, business reviews, service levels, corrective action and escalation.
- Partner with Sales, Implementations and Transportation on opportunity qualification, partner readiness, go-live sequencing and lane design.
- Own the SPN budget, cost-to-serve and margin targets, and report variance against plan.
- Develop and deliver peak season capacity strategies with partners.
- Ensure the safety and security of staff and inventory across partner sites by identifying risks and driving mitigation.
- Represent SPN to executive leadership and partner executives.
- Build a culture and develop leaders by leading, mentoring and developing the SPN team, embodying Stord's core values.
What You'll Need
Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Operations Management, Engineering, Business or a related field.
15+ years in fulfillment, warehousing and 3PL operations, with significant time operating and leading large 3PL sites or multi-site operations.
Deep knowledge of 3PL operating models, pricing structures, contract terms, labor models and what drives partner performance.
Demonstrated experience leading RFP activity, from requirements through evaluation, negotiation and award.
Experience building network topology against required regional coverage, including site selection criteria, capacity modeling and transit-time analysis.
Proven ability to build a multi-year vision for a network or operations team that is sized to growth forecasts, and to execute against it.
Track record of partnering with Sales, Implementations and Transportation.
Experience leading leaders, including directors, managers and large indirect teams across multiple sites.
Experience owning P&L or cost-to-serve, budgeting, and unit-economics metrics such as cost per order, cost per unit and throughput.
Experience with Lean and Six Sigma methodologies.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including experience presenting strategy and performance to executives and partner leadership.
Preferred: experience at a 3PL or fulfillment provider that operated both owned and partner-managed sites.
Preferred: experience with network design tools and optimization modeling.
Preferred: experience with omnichannel, DTC, B2B and retail replenishment fulfillment, and specialty requirements such as cold chain, oversized goods or regulated products.
Preferred: experience with WMS and OMS integration across third-party sites.
