Position Overview
The Marketing Automation Manager owns how prospects move from initial engagement through qualification, sales handoff and continued engagement. This is a hands-on role within the Journey Orchestration function on the Digital Marketing team. You’ll combine lifecycle strategy with hands-on execution in HubSpot or a comparable marketing automation platform, while helping shape future MarTech capabilities. You’ll design automated journeys, define lead-flow rules and build the workflows and programs that bring those journeys to life.
You’ll partner with Business Marketing, Sales, Revenue Operations and Digital Marketing to connect campaign engagement and buyer signals to timely, relevant next-best actions across marketing and sales. Artificial intelligence (AI) is part of how we work. You’ll use company-approved AI tools to support program development, analysis and optimization while adhering to privacy, security, brand and human-review standards.
What You’ll Do
- Lead Management
- Own the lead management process from capture through qualification, sales acceptance, recycling and re-engagement.
- Manage lifecycle stages, scoring, qualification, routing and handoff standards in partnership with Sales, Revenue Operations and Data & Analytics.
- Build automation, alerts and seller education that enable timely, informed follow-up.
- Platform and Automation
- Serve as a hands-on expert and administrator for HubSpot or a comparable marketing automation platform.
- Build, test and optimize workflows, segmentation, triggered campaigns, emails, forms and landing pages.
- Maintain platform governance, documentation, suppression logic, property standards, integrations and quality assurance.
- Troubleshoot automation and data synchronization issues, partnering with technical teams as needed.
- Journeys and Campaigns
- Translate Business Marketing strategies into automated journeys and next-best-action programs in partnership with Creative, Content and Performance Marketing.
- Design progressive journeys for complex B2B buying processes, including nurture, onboarding and reactivation.
- Define triggers, branching logic, cadence and content requirements based on buyer stage, persona, behavior and engagement.
- Apply strong email marketing expertise across design, audience strategy, testing, best practices and deliverability.
- Apply ABM principles and use account, persona, buying-group, intent and AI-supported buyer signals to create more relevant, personalized experiences and next-best actions.
- Measurement and Optimization
- Measure performance across engagement, qualification, handoff, conversion and owned channels such as email.
- Design and run A/B tests across audiences, messaging, cadence and journey paths.
- Partner with Sales and Data & Analytics to improve lead quality, routing, data quality and program performance.
- Use performance insights to continuously improve journeys, automation and lifecycle strategy.
What You’ll Bring
- Required
- 6-8+ years of experience in B2B marketing automation, lifecycle marketing, demand generation, marketing operations or journey orchestration.
- Hands-on expertise with HubSpot, Salesforce Marketing Cloud or a comparable enterprise marketing automation platform.
- Experience designing and managing lead lifecycle processes, including scoring, qualification, routing and sales handoff.
- Experience building lifecycle journeys for long B2B sales cycles using account, persona, buying-group or behavioral signals.
- Demonstrated ability to build workflows, segmentation, nurture programs, emails, forms and landing pages.
- Proven ability to partner across Marketing, Sales, Revenue Operations and other cross-functional teams.
- Working knowledge of Salesforce CRM and marketing-to-sales data flows.
- Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills, with the ability to translate business requirements into scalable automation.
- Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, business or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
- Travel for business needs about once per quarter, up to 10-20% of time
- Preferred
- HubSpot certification or certification in a comparable marketing automation platform.
- Experience with Optimizely or another digital experience platform.
- Experience with ABM or intent platforms such as 6sense or Demandbase.
- Familiarity with Snowflake, customer data platforms or first-party audience activation.
- Experience in health care, fintech, financial services, SaaS or another regulated B2B environment.
