Are you the installer other installers call when they get stuck?
Do you like knowing a job inside and out before the truck ever leaves the shop?
Ready to take your field experience and put it to work leading a team? Apply today and be part of a company that values leadership, preparation, and a winning mindset!
NH Ross is a family-owned and operated business dedicated to providing our customers with the best service possible. Founded in 1971, NH Ross specializes in residential Heating, Cooling, Plumbing, Gas Conversions, and Electrical services. With a focus on quality and customer satisfaction, we're your trusted partner for home comfort and safety in Suffolk and Nassau Counties.
About the Role:
This is a hands-on leadership role. You will be the technical go-to for our install team - the person who knows every sold job, every piece of equipment, and every installer's strengths. We don't expect you to know everything on day one. We do expect you to be curious, prepared, and the kind of leader who reads all manuals, specifications and understands the products to properly Install-manage technicians with the best possible outcome.
What You'll Own:
Know Every Job Before It Starts
When a job is sold, sit down with the seller, ask questions, and make sure you understand the full scope before it hits the schedule.
Learn the equipment being installed - read the manual, know the tools needed, and spot any obstacles that could push the job past sold time.
Make sure the right materials are ordered and staged for every sold job. Inspect materials for damage.
Set daily expectations with install crews and review proposals, materials, and tools before each job.
Lead and Develop the Install Team
Be available and hands-on in the field - support crews when they need it and provide in-the-moment training.
Help lead regularly scheduled technical training in the office covering plumbing, heating, cooling, and electrical.
Hold regular 1:1s with each installer - set clear expectations, give feedback, and hold the team accountable.
Monitor job progress, conduct site inspections, and complete quality control checklists.
Maintain callbacks
Own the Numbers
Track job costing - labor, materials, and sold hours vs. actual - and report results to leadership.
Use ServiceTitan to pull the reports and job information you need to support your team (training provided).
Keep jobs on time and within budget to meet company financial goals.
Fleet and Truck Inventory
Keep our trucks running efficiently - make sure all maintenance and repairs are scheduled and tracked.
Partner with the Parts Manager to hold technicians accountable for truck inventory.
Communication and Standards
Collaborate with sales and coordination teams to prepare jobs and resolve issues quickly.
Communicate professionally with customers, crews, and leadership.
Maintain high standards for safety, code compliance, and customer satisfaction.
