STEP Office of Aging is seeking a part-time Center for Healthy Aging Coordinator to oversee the daily operations of our Centers for Healthy Aging. This rewarding position plays a vital role in helping older adults remain active, independent, healthy, and connected to their communities through educational, recreational, nutritional, and wellness-focused programming.

• Pay Rate: $22.53 per hour
• Hours: Up to 20 per week at various Centers for Healthy Aging in Lycoming and Clinton Counties

What You'll Do

• As the Center for Healthy Aging Coordinator, you will: Plan, coordinate, and facilitate engaging programs that support healthy aging, socialization, education, nutrition, recreation, and wellness.
• Create a welcoming, inclusive environment where older adults feel valued, connected, and supported.
• Organize fitness and evidence-based health promotion programs and encourage active lifestyles.
• Develop community partnerships that expand programs and resources available to participants.
• Coordinate congregate meal services and assist with oversight of Meals on Wheels operations.
• Recruit, train, schedule, and support volunteers who help carry out center activities and meal services.
• Connect older adults with valuable aging services and community resources.
• Participate in community outreach events, health fairs, and educational initiatives.
• Maintain required records, reports, and compliance with Pennsylvania Department of Aging standards.

Requirements

What We're Looking For

• Successful candidates will bring: A bachelor's degree in Health, Fitness, Recreation, Exercise Science, or a related field preferred. Individuals with other bachelor's degrees and relevant experience working in healthcare, human services, or with older adults are encouraged to apply.
• A passion for serving older adults and promoting healthy, independent living.
• Strong organizational, communication, and customer service skills.
• Experience using Microsoft Office programs, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
• The ability to plan programs, coordinate multiple responsibilities, and work both independently and as part of a team.
• A valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
• The ability to obtain First Aid/CPR certification and complete required clearances.
• Physical Requirements

This position requires the ability to perform the essential functions of the job, including sitting, standing, climbing stairs, and lifting/carrying up to 20 pounds unassisted. The position may also involve accessing residences that may not be handicap accessible.
