Employer Job Description
From Regeneron Pharmaceuticals's posting. “We” and “our” refer to the employer.
At Regeneron, we use science and innovation to develop life-changing medicines for people with serious diseases. We are seeking a highly motivated Sr. Associate Scientist to join the Intact Mass, proteomics technologies and key MS platforms team within the Analytical and Biological Mass Spectrometry (ABMS) Group.
In this role, you will develop and apply LC-MS-based analytical methods to advance Regeneron’s pipeline across all stages of development, including antibodies (monospecific, bispecific, and alternative formats), antibody-drug conjugates (ADCs), and other emerging modalities (AAVs, siRNA).
You will apply state-of-the-art mass spectrometry and analytical technologies to characterize therapeutic protein candidates, with a focus on critical quality attributes and process development, while collaborating closely with cross-functional teams to coordinate samples, study activities, priorities, and timelines.
This position offers the opportunity to contribute to a fast-growing, science-driven organization that is making a meaningful difference for patients worldwide.
When & where:
Shift Requirements: Full-time
Location: On-site in Tarrytown, NY
What you’ll do:
- Develop and apply LC-MS-based analytical methods to characterize mAbs and other therapeutic protein candidates across R&D programs
- Perform sample preparation, LC-MS experiments, and data analysis using relevant software and bioinformatics tools to characterize product quality attributes; document results in electronic laboratory notebook (ELN) entries, presentations, and reports
- Support process development, R&D activities, and regulatory submissions through analytical characterization and scientific problem-solving
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand analytical needs, coordinate samples and study activities, and align priorities, timelines, and deliverables
- Interpret and communicate scientific results through project and group meetings, technical reports, regulatory documents, internal and external conferences, and peer-reviewed publications
- Plan and prioritize work, manage and visualize data, and deliver clear, timely updates
The environment and physical rhythms of this role:
This is an innovative, fast-paced, and collaborative R&D laboratory environment that calls for results-driven, highly organized, and adaptable scientists with scientific curiosity and the ability to learn new technologies.
Strong cross-functional collaboration and communication skills are required, including the ability to build productive working relationships and to coordinate samples, activities, priorities, timelines, and deliverables across multiple programs.
Let’s find out if we’re a fit:
Must-haves:
Master’s degree with at least 3 years of relevant experience, or a Bachelor’s degree with at least 6 years of relevant experience, in Chemistry, Biochemistry, Analytical Chemistry, Pharmaceutical Sciences, or a related field
Industrial or academic experience in analytical characterization of protein therapeutics, bioconjugates, or other therapeutic modalities
Strong knowledge of and hands-on experience with LC-MS-based characterization of proteins, peptides, and antibody-drug conjugates, including sample preparation, liquid chromatography, mass spectrometry, and data analysis
Enjoy developing and troubleshooting analytical methods and solving complex scientific and technical problems
Preferred / nice-to-haves:
Experience with advanced mass spectrometer platforms (e.g., Orbitrap, Q-TOF, and triple quadrupole), liquid chromatography, and relevant data processing software (e.g., Xcalibur, Protein Metrics, ChemDraw, Skyline, Proteome Discoverer, and other related analytical tools)
