About the Opportunity / A Day in the Life:
This is adult neurology at a pace that lets you actually practice it. You will see roughly 12 patients a day, with 60 minutes for a new consult and 30 for a follow-up — enough room for a real neurological exam, a careful history, and a conversation the patient understands before they leave.
A typical day moves between new neurological complaints and established patients you are managing over time: reviewing imaging and diagnostic studies, adjusting medications, tracking disease progression, and bringing complex presentations to the physicians you work alongside. The case mix is broad — migraine and headache disorders, movement disorders, neuropathy, and other chronic and acute neurological conditions.
The role also opens the procedural side of the specialty. You will have the opportunity to train in and perform Botox injections, occipital nerve blocks, trigger point injections, and carpal tunnel injections, plus exposure to Deep Brain Stimulation (DBS) programming. If you are an experienced Nurse Practitioner who wants to move into neurology, this is built for that transition: the mentorship is structured and the physicians expect to teach.
Why This Role Stands Out:
- A schedule you can plan a life around — Monday through Friday, no nights, no weekends, no call, no travel
- Appointment lengths that respect the specialty — 60-minute new patient visits and 30-minute follow-ups instead of a packed template
- Real procedural training — injection therapies, nerve blocks, and DBS programming exposure, learned with physician support rather than thrown at you
- A genuine path into neurology — experienced Nurse Practitioners from other specialties are welcome, with structured mentorship to get you there
- Broad adult neurological case mix — from common headache and neuropathy presentations to more complex chronic disease management
- Collaborative, physician-supported practice — close access to neurologists while you build independent clinical judgment
What We're Looking For:
- A Nurse Practitioner with a real interest in adult neurology and specialty medicine
- Strong clinical assessment skills and sound, independent medical decision-making
- A provider who values patient education, continuity, and individualized treatment planning
- Someone comfortable collaborating closely with physicians while growing into clinical autonomy
- Interest in learning office-based neurological procedures and injection therapies
- A dependable clinician who welcomes mentorship and ongoing professional development
- Job Duties & Responsibilities: Evaluate and manage adult patients presenting with acute and chronic neurological conditions
- Perform comprehensive histories, physical examinations, and focused neurological assessments
- Develop, implement, and adjust individualized treatment plans
- Order, review, and interpret diagnostic studies, laboratory testing, and imaging results
- Prescribe and manage medications within the scope of Nurse Practitioner licensure and practice authority
- Perform or assist with office-based neurological procedures, including Botox injections, occipital nerve blocks, trigger point injections, and carpal tunnel injections, as trained and credentialed
- Participate in training and clinical exposure related to Deep Brain Stimulation (DBS) programming
- Monitor treatment effectiveness, disease progression, and patient response to therapy
- Educate patients and families on diagnoses, medications, treatment options, and long-term management
- Collaborate with collaborating neurologists and the wider clinical team on complex cases
- Maintain timely, accurate clinical documentation in the electronic medical record
- Take part in continuing medical education, clinical training, and quality improvement work
- Required Qualifications: Graduate of an accredited Nurse Practitioner program
- Active Arizona Nurse Practitioner license, or eligibility to obtain Arizona licensure
- Appropriate national board certification (FNP, AGNP, or ACNP)
- Current DEA registration, or the ability to obtain it prior to practice
- Strong clinical assessment, communication, and documentation skills
- Able to work full-time, on-site in Scottsdale, Arizona
- This Role Is Likely a Fit If You…
- Want to build a long-term career in adult neurology, including if your current experience is in another specialty
- Prefer a manageable daily census and appointment lengths that allow a thorough workup
- Enjoy following patients over time through chronic and complex disease management
- Want to add office-based procedures and injection therapies to your clinical skill set
- Value a physician-supported environment that treats teaching as part of the job
- Want a predictable Monday–Friday clinic schedule with no call and no weekend coverage
- This Role May Not Be a Fit If You…
- Are not a graduate of an accredited Nurse Practitioner program
- Do not hold, and are not eligible to obtain, an Arizona Nurse Practitioner license
- Do not hold FNP, AGNP, or ACNP national board certification
- Cannot hold or obtain DEA registration before beginning practice
- Are looking for a remote, hybrid, or telehealth position — this role is fully on-site
- Want an inpatient, emergency department, or hospital-based setting rather than outpatient specialty clinic
Why Join Us:
We are an established outpatient adult neurology practice in the Scottsdale area, and we have built this role deliberately: a reasonable daily census, appointment lengths that make good neurology possible, and physicians who expect to mentor the Nurse Practitioner who joins them. The procedural exposure is real, the schedule is predictable, and the specialty knowledge you build here compounds for the rest of your career.
If you are a Nurse Practitioner looking for a substantive outpatient specialty role — with a workload you can manage, procedures you can learn, and a clinical team that will back you — we would like to hear from you. Please apply with your most updated resume or CV; we look forward to meeting you.
