About the role
This is a builder’s seat inside the commercial organization, and it is central to where we are taking the US commercial team. You will design and build the agentic workflows and agents that change how the team works day to day, and you will own the marketing and sales systems they run on. You report to the VP of Revenue Operations.
Agentic workflows and agents are the heart of this role. We want the repetitive work out of the commercial team’s day — researching and enriching accounts, surfacing signals worth acting on, drafting outreach, keeping records current, preparing reps before a call. You decide what is worth building, build it, and prove it on something real before scaling it. Everything you ship is internal and keeps a person in the loop.
You work with the data team — you do not own the data layer. We are building a data layer as a company and the data team owns it. You are its most demanding internal customer: you bring the commercial requirements, shape what the commercial side needs from it, and build on top of what they deliver.
You own the marketing and sales systems. The commercial team spans Business Development, Account Executives across Events and Commercial Real Estate, Account Management and North American Marketing, built from two companies that recently became one. You own the architecture of the stack those teams run on and the integrations between them. We have a Salesforce administrator for day-to-day configuration and user requests, so you are not the ticket queue.
There is no roadmap waiting for you and no vendor already chosen — you set the direction with your VP. This role is remote within the US, with regular travel to our Dallas–Fort Worth hub. You cannot automate a workflow you have never watched someone do, so expect real time sitting with reps.
Requirements
- Position Responsibilities: Agentic workflows and agents
- Find the commercial workflows where an agent or automation earns its place, starting from where the team actually loses time
- Design and build internal agentic workflows end to end, with clear boundaries for what runs autonomously and what gets drafted for a person to review
- Evaluate and monitor what you ship — accuracy, adoption, time saved — so a degrading agent is caught by you rather than reported by a frustrated rep
- Keep pace with a tooling market that moves monthly, without rebuilding the stack every time something new appears
- Marketing and sales systems
- Own the architecture of the commercial stack — CRM, marketing automation, call intelligence, enrichment and engagement tooling — and the integrations between them, so a record created in one place is correct everywhere it matters
- Own lifecycle and routing logic — how a lead becomes an account, how it reaches the right rep, and what happens when it does not
- Partner with our Salesforce administrator, who owns configuration and user requests, while you own architecture and anything that needs building rather than configuring
- Make the build-versus-buy call on new tooling, and be honest when buying is the right answer
- Working with the data team, and the commercial team
- Bring the commercial requirements to the data team and shape what the commercial side needs from the data layer they own
- Build the enrichment, scoring and signal detection that feed the BDR and AE motion on top of what the data team delivers
- Make commercial reporting trustworthy — attribution, funnel conversion, activity and pipeline metrics leadership can act on without a caveat
- Sit with BDRs, AEs, Account Managers and Marketing to understand their actual workflow before automating any part of it, and partner with Revenue Enablement so what you ship arrives with training rather than a link in Slack
- Who thrives here
- We hire for four things across the commercial team. They apply to an engineer sitting inside it as much as to anyone carrying a number.
- Growth mindset. You ship, watch what happens, and change it. You will be wrong about which workflows matter most — find that out in two weeks, not a quarter.
- Team player. You build with the commercial team rather than for them, and take “this is slower than doing it myself” as information rather than user error.
- Daily work ethic. A lot of this job is unglamorous: the backfill, the field cleanup, the integration that breaks at an awkward time. The impressive parts only stand up if it is done.
- Coachability. You are the most technical person in a commercial room, which makes it easy to stop listening. You ask what people actually need.
What success looks like
This is a build role, so the milestones are about shipping rather than surveying.
By day 30 — You have sat with reps in every commercial role watching them work, mapped the stack and where it breaks, and met the data team to understand what the data layer will provide and when. You have a prioritised list of workflows worth automating, agreed with the VP.
By day 60 — The first agentic workflow is live with the team it was built for, however small. The highest-cost systems and integration problems are fixed or scheduled.
By day 90 — Agents are in production and used daily, with evaluation and monitoring behind them, and you can show what they save. Commercial reporting is trusted, and you have a sequenced plan for what comes next.
Requirements
- Based in the US with the ability to travel regularly to our Dallas–Fort Worth hub; US work authorization
- 3+ years in GTM engineering, revenue operations engineering, marketing operations or sales systems, in a role where you built rather than only configured
- You write code and you use low-code, and you know which one a problem deserves. Comfortable in Python or TypeScript against APIs, and equally comfortable solving something in a day with Clay, n8n, Zapier or Workato
- Hands-on experience building with LLMs and agent tooling — prompting, retrieval, tool use, evaluation — and a clear view of where they work and where they do not
- Deep working knowledge of Salesforce beyond the admin surface — data model, automation, integration patterns — and experience architecting a marketing automation platform and its CRM integration
- Strong data fundamentals: SQL and a real understanding of data modelling, enough to be a credible partner to a data team rather than only a consumer of what it produces
- Able to translate between a commercial problem and a technical one in both directions, and to say no to a request that would create more mess than it solves
- Clear writer. You document what you build so it outlives your memory of it
- Nice to have: internal agents or automation a sales team actually adopted; consolidating systems after a merger; exposure to events, hospitality, commercial real estate, municipal government, parking or venue technology
