Employer Job Description
From Montera's posting. “We” and “our” refer to the employer.
About Montera
At Montera, we’re building the future of digital infrastructure. Founder-led with $1.5B backed by Stonepeak, Montera is driven by a future-focused vision: to develop and operate hyperscale data centers essential for tomorrow's technology. Our mission is to deliver strategically located, hyperscale data centers designed for speed, reliability, and scalability. Backed by decades of experience in design, construction, and operations, we don’t just build—we execute with purpose.
Our Values
· Client First Alignment: We align every solution to our clients’ goals.
· Speed with Certainty: Velocity matters. We deliver with urgency and precision.
· Operational Excellence: Decades of experience drive our high standards.
· Safety & Integrity: Safety is non-negotiable. We lead with integrity and transparency.
· Ownership Mentality: We think like owners, because we are.
The Opportunity
Montera is seeking a Senior Director, Scheduling & Planning to build and lead the company's scheduling program. Reporting to the VP, Project Controls, this role sets the vision for a scheduling and planning ecosystem that fits Montera's business — then drives its implementation and execution across the portfolio, spanning the full project cycle from site development through ready-for-service (RFS).
This is a builder's leadership role, not a schedule-running one. You will own Montera's integrated master schedules, define the schedule OKRs, and hold general contractors and vendors accountable to their schedule commitments — partnering closely with senior leadership to set direction and with project teams to drive an acceleration mindset and proactive risk management across every project.
What You’ll Do
- · Build and lead Montera's scheduling and planning program — define the vision with senior leadership and drive implementation across all projects.
- · Own the Montera scheduling playbook: program-level standards, tools and systems — from master-schedule structure and standard milestones to schedule hygiene, data quality, and integration with cost and reporting.
- · Lead a team of scheduling vendors and hold them to Montera's standards and deliverables; communicate Montera's mission and delivery priorities to internal teams and external partners alongside senior leadership.
- · Own the integrated master schedule from site development onward, including power and interconnection milestones; lead baseline schedule development, review and management, with standard preconstruction deliverables, assumptions, and basis of schedule.
- · Support site selection, due diligence and investment decisions by assessing schedule drivers and risk profiles, and partner with the commercial lead on preconstruction so buyout supports schedule requirements and aligns with cash flows.
- · Hold general contractors and vendors accountable for monthly schedule updates and deliverables — schedule quality, logic, and alignment with the master schedule.
- · Own OFCI procurement controls: set required-on-job (ROJ) dates, ensure vendor commit and delivery dates support the schedule, and drive equipment risk management; evaluate delay claims and commercial exposure from schedule changes.
- · Drive regular acceleration reviews and an acceleration mindset across project teams, and lead proactive schedule risk management through trend analysis, schedule risk analysis, and corrective action.
- · Own the consolidated program view (built by scheduling vendors) to communicate schedule health and risk to leadership, and define leading and lagging KPIs — including on-time milestone delivery — running performance reviews and lessons-learned with internal teams and partners.
What You Bring
- · A track record of building and leading a scheduling program — not only running schedules — with the ability to set direction, influence senior leaders, and partner across the organization.
- · A strong foundation in scheduling best practices: CPM, baseline management, schedule-quality review, time-impact analysis, and schedule risk analysis.
- · Required: experience managing schedules or schedule teams for large ($1B+) megaprojects, with a focus on complex electrical and mechanical systems and commissioning.
- · Preferred: hyperscale or mission-critical data center experience.
- · Strong communication and presentation skills, leadership, reporting, analysis, and negotiation ability.
- · Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field; relevant scheduling credentials (e.g. PSP, PMI-SP) a plus.
