Additional Information:

The Student Nurse Externship is a continuous eight-week summer program in which rising senior nursing students in a BSN program work with highly skilled nurse preceptors gaining experience with multidisciplinary teams, in diverse specialty care areas in an atmosphere of learning and support.

Program dates - May 24th - July 17th, 2027.

Requirements for the Student Nurse Externship

• To be considered for the Student Nurse Externship, you must: Be enrolled in an accredited baccalaureate nursing program at a university or college and have completed your junior year
• Maintain a GPA of 3.2 or higher
• Write a 250-word essay describing how the externship could influence the transition from student nurse to professional nurse
• Provide school transcripts or advising report
• Externs are expected to work 32–36 hours each week throughout the eight-week program.
• Please submit your applications sooner than later. Candidates will be reviewed and offered a unit of placement on a first-come, first-served basis.
• If you have issues uploading your transcript and essay – please send to me directly. Your application will not be accepted until a resume, advising report and essay are received.
• After you submit and application, resume, transcript and 250-word essay – you will be sent a self-paced online interview. Once that is received, it will be sent to the hiring team for next steps.
