Shipping Specialist
(Full-Time, Direct-Hire position with Benefits, Competitive Compensation and more!)
The Shipping Specialist will verify and keeps records on outgoing shipments and prepare items for shipment.
Position Responsibilities:
Compares identifying information and counts weighs, or measures items of outgoing shipments to verify information against bills of lading, invoices, orders, or other records.
Determines the method of shipment.
Affixes shipping labels on packed cartons or stencils identifying shipping information on cartons.
Assembles wooden or cardboard containers or selects preassembled containers.
Insert items into containers.
Stamps, stencils, or glues identifying information and shipping instructions onto crates or containers.
Posts weights and shipping charges, and affixes postage.
Examines outgoing shipments to ensure shipments meet specifications.
Maintains the inventory of shipping materials and supplies.
Operates tier lift truck or uses hand-truck to move, convey, or hoist shipments from shipping and receiving platform to storage or work area.
Requirements
- 1+ years of hands-on shipping and receiving experience
- Forklift experience a plus, will train
- Overhead crane experience a plus, will train
- Experience with measurement devices a must
- Crating or carpentry experience a plus, will train
- Export paperwork experience at plus
- Understanding SDS/Hazcom shipping regulations
