The Wellness Coach leads Nox Group's enterprise wellness program across every location, covering mental, physical, nutritional, and financial well-being for both craft and office teammates. This role owns the Mental Health Champion program, company-wide mental health training, wellness challenges, and gym facilities, and partners with leaders across the business on recognition and philanthropy.
It is a hands-on, highly visible role for someone who is comfortable in front of a crowd and can build programs that work on a job site as well as in an office.
Responsibilities
- Own the Mental Health Champion program end to end: select and vet champions at every Nox Group location, onboard them, set clear expectations, monitor their participation and performance, and give coaching and feedback when needed.
- Build an annual roadmap of champion initiatives, including communications, rollout plans, resources, training, success metrics, and hands-on support. Provide ongoing training and resources, and host quarterly to biannual champion gatherings that build connection and a positive culture.
- Support employees and champions during mental health crises. Lead difficult conversations, coach champions on how to help an employee in the moment, and own follow-up support and communication afterward.
- Own and facilitate company-wide mental health training, revising and creating content on a routine basis. Speak regularly to groups of all sizes, from crews on a job site to company-wide meetings and conferences.
- Lead the physical wellness pillar: plan, teach, and coach workout classes of all types and fitness levels, provide 1:1 fitness coaching, and maintain and set up gym facilities across all locations, including equipment upkeep and troubleshooting.
- Scale the wellness program into four pillars (mental, physical, nutrition, and financial), each with its own structure, education, and activities. Design and run wellness challenges throughout the year that can be tracked and sustained across multiple states.
- Create engaging wellness content, including presentations, emails, flyers, and social media posts, and run the Nox Group wellness Instagram page. Own all wellness technology (websites, apps, and trackers), monitor usage and results, and set goals and initiatives to drive adoption.
- Partner with the Chief of Staff on philanthropy. Start and own community partnerships, represent Nox Group at conferences, meetings, and keynotes, and build company learning and activities around those partnerships.
- Partner with site office managers on location-specific recognition events, owning full coordination and communication.
- Teach and facilitate routine CPR/AED and First Aid certification training. Train others on how to teach the course and certify others.
- Develop and mentor Wellness Coordinator(s), guiding their day-to-day work on facilities and programming.
Qualifications
- Strong public speaker and facilitator, comfortable with audiences of any size, from craft crews to executives.
- Ability to lead difficult conversations with care, stay calm during an employee mental health crisis, coach others to do the same, and follow through with support and communication afterward.
- Proven ability to build and run a multi-faceted wellness program, including roadmaps, expectations, metrics, and accountability.
- Ability to set up, teach, and coach workout classes of all types and fitness levels.
- Ability to troubleshoot gym equipment and keep facilities safe and in working order.
- Creates engaging content across formats (presentations, emails, flyers, and social media), with experience running a social media account; comfortable with wellness apps and trackers.
- Works independently and manages multiple priorities across locations with little day-to-day oversight.
- Experience coaching, mentoring, or supervising others and giving direct feedback.
- Working knowledge of mental health awareness and stigma reduction; experience with a construction or field-based workforce preferred.
- Willing to travel regularly to Nox Group locations in multiple states.
- Willingness to work early morning or late nights aligned to recognition events.
- Education & Certifications
- Bachelor's degree in Kinesiology, Exercise Science, Health Promotion, Psychology, or a related field preferred; equivalent experience considered.
- Nationally accredited personal training or group fitness certification (such as NASM, ACE, or ACSM) required or willingness to obtain.
- CPR/AED and First Aid certification required, or obtained within 90 days of hire.
- Mental Health First Aid instructor certification preferred, or willingness to obtain.
- Health coaching or health education certification (such as NBC-HWC or CHES) preferred.
- Safety Level
- This is a safety sensitive position, and all applicable policies including drug test and background check will apply.
- The inherent responsibilities of your role may include physical working conditions. In order to safely and successfully perform job duties you must be able to:
- Potentially lift up to 50 pounds
- Potentially need to do repeated pushing, pulling, carrying, reaching (or working above shoulder), walking, standing, sitting, stooping, kneeling, bending, and climbing

- We reserve the right to continually monitor your ability to safely and successfully complete these inherent physical responsibilities and take action as deemed appropriate in accordance with the Americans with Disability Act (ADA)
- It has been and continues to be the long-standing policy of any Nox Group operating company to provide equal employment opportunities (EEO) to all employees and applicants for employment without regard to race, color, religion, gender, national origin, age, disability, or genetics.
