Employer job description
From Vesta Home's posting. “We” and “our” refer to the employer.
Who We Are:
Vesta Home is changing the way homes are marketed and how furniture is sold. We're obsessed with the client experience for our full-service offerings: interior design, luxury staging, elevated furniture rentals, and custom furniture production—fueled by our proprietary technology and logistics expertise.
Founded in 2017, our team of 50+ designers creates stunning interiors for residential, commercial, and hospitality projects. We proudly partner with top realtors, developers, and personalities on some of the most prestigious properties in the market. You’ve likely seen our work in top design magazines, Bravo’s Million Dollar Listing, and Netflix’s Selling Sunset.
As the #1 home staging brand in the U.S., Vesta’s deep design expertise and market knowledge in Los Angeles, New York, San Francisco, and South Florida helps sell multimillion-dollar properties faster and above asking. Our interior design and custom furniture services are available globally.
Core Values:
“Get it done!”: We have a bias toward action, and balance grit with smart work to accomplish our goals. We see business challenges as opportunities, always bring forward solutions, and believe there is no challenge too great that we cannot solve collectively.
“Design excellence”: Exceptional design is a function of continuous improvement. We apply this ruthlessly and pursue design excellence in everything we do - from projects to processes to people.
“Execute in partnership and with pride”: We rise by lifting others and are most successful when our peers and colleagues are successful as well. We obsess over quality, take pride in our work, and break down barriers to create seamless success.
“Invest not spend”: We value impact and the efficient achievement of results. We invest money - we don't spend it. We expect and monitor the returns on all of our investments, from time to money.
“Embrace a growth mindset”: We believe profitable growth creates opportunities and are intensely focused on progress. We develop the most talented people and empower them to offer world-class expertise to our clients.
Summary of Role: We’re seeking a hands-on Accounts Receivable & Collections Supervisor to lead the day-to-day billing and collections operation for our growing, multi-market business. Reporting to the Senior Accounting Operations Manager, you’ll be the primary U.S.-based supervisor for our offshore Billing and Collections/AR team and own cash collection, billing accuracy, and AR reconciliations through month-end close.
You’ll be equally comfortable coaching the team and doing the work yourself, from working an aging report to resolving a billing issue to speaking directly with a customer about a significant past-due balance. Success is measured by cash collected, aged balances reduced, and clean, current reconciliations.
Compensation Range: $75,000 to $90,000 annually, depending on experience.
Responsibilities
- Collections & AR Management
- Own the AR portfolio and daily collection strategy across current and past-due balances, prioritizing by dollar value, age, and risk.
- Ensure every material past-due account has a clear owner, next action, and expected resolution date. Personally handle large, sensitive, or disputed balances.
- Partner with Sales and Operations to resolve disputes, contract questions, and other barriers to payment, and escalate accounts for outside collections or legal action when needed.
- Billing Oversight
- Ensure invoices are generated accurately and on time in accordance with signed contracts and approved terms.
- Own recurring rental billing, including start dates, increases, prorations, move-outs, and contract-specific exceptions.
- Oversee credits, refunds, security deposits, and billing adjustments.
- Cash Application, Reconciliation & Month-End Close
- Ensure ACH, wire, check, and credit card payments are applied accurately and on time, and resolve unapplied or unidentified cash quickly.
- Own AR reconciliations across QuickBooks Online, Salesforce, Upflow, and the general ledger, clearing issues throughout the month rather than at close.
- Complete AR aging review, account cleanup, and close deliverables on schedule.
- Team Leadership
- Directly supervise and coach offshore Billing and Collections/AR team members as their primary onshore point of contact.
- Set clear expectations, deadlines, and escalation paths across time zones, and hold the team accountable for outcomes, not just activity.
- Build repeatable SOPs and review controls so the team can operate independently.
- Reporting & Process Improvement
- Prepare weekly AR and billing reporting covering DSO, aging, cash collected, and at-risk balances, with commentary on key changes.
- Strengthen AR and billing controls, and use Upflow, automation, and AI-supported workflows to make the team more efficient.
- Support integration of acquired businesses into standard billing, collections, and reconciliation processes.
Requirements
- 4+ years of progressive Accounts Receivable, Billing, Order-to-Cash, or related accounting experience.
- 1–2+ years in a supervisory or team lead role within AR, billing, or collections.
- Strong working knowledge of AR aging, collections, invoicing, cash application, credits, refunds, and reconciliations.
- Experience supporting month-end close and reconciling customer subledgers to the general ledger.
- Experience handling difficult or high-value collections and interpreting contracts and payment terms.
- Strong Excel or Google Sheets skills, plus strong organization, judgment, and follow-through in a remote environment.
- Preferred Skills
- Experience supervising offshore or internationally distributed accounting teams.
- Experience with QuickBooks Online and Salesforce.
- Experience with Upflow or a similar collections platform.
- Background in a high-growth, multi-market, or acquisitive business.
