Senior Associate, Technical Product Manager
Job Description:
HITT is seeking a Senior Associate, Product Manager to join the team building and operating HITT’s proprietary project software platform. This platform supports critical business capabilities across pricing, budgeting, financial management, and related processes, and handles financial workflows where reliable releases, stable environments, and clean handoffs from System Integrator partners to HITT matter.
This is a hands-on role for an early-career product professional with strong technical fluency who wants to grow in product management. The successful candidate will own a defined area of the product, partner day to day with the Business Analyst on requirements, testing, and delivery, and take responsibility for how the platform is released and operated—working directly with Engineering, DevOps, and System Integrator partners to keep releases and environments moving.
The platform will continue to evolve, but the mandate is clear: deliver a pricing and financial management solution that elevates the business of building. Reporting to Product Leadership, this role will partner closely with business stakeholders, field users to keep the platform backlog built with features, enhancements, reliable, supportable, and continuously improving through rapid, iterative Agile cycles.
Because HITT builds software for builders, everything this role delivers must earn adoption in high-velocity, decentralized field environments—on jobsites, in trailers, and in offices—by users of many backgrounds. The specific components and feature-sets will evolve as HITT’s business and technology evolve; this role’s charge is durable: understand how the product is built and run, keep it dependable for the people who use it, and help the team keep shipping and raising the standard for what the platform can do.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Product Ownership & Delivery
- Own the backlog writing user stories and acceptance criteria, prioritizing by business value and user impact, and keeping work ready for delivery.
- Partner day to day with the Business Analyst, who leads discovery and requirements sessions, to translate business needs into a prioritized, delivery-ready backlog.
- Support UAT planning, defect triage, and validation of fixes alongside the Business Analyst and Engineering.
- Use usage data, defect trends, and user feedback to identify improvements and feed the product backlog.
- Support user training and adoption efforts, and prepare sprint demos, release notes, and roadmap updates for Product Leadership.
- Communicate status, risks, decisions, and trade-offs clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Contribute to product team standards, processes, and best practices, and stay current on platform capabilities and relevant industry practices.
- Release & Operations Ownership
- Own the release calendar and promotion path across Dev, Test, UAT, Staging, and Production, including gate checklists, change-control approvals, and an audit trail appropriate to a financial system.
- Run intake and triage for production issues and integration failures: log, route to the right owner, track to resolution, and report on trends.
- Draft, maintain, and test runbooks for deployments, environment refreshes, secret rotation, and common integration-failure scenarios - environment readiness, lower-environment refresh schedules, etc.
- Maintain the on-call roster and escalation paths with Engineering and delivery partners.
- Support monitoring reviews of integration flows and follow up on reconciliation exceptions.
- Report on cloud resource costs and flag anomalies.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Engineering, Business, or related field; equivalent experience considered.
- 4+ years of experience in product management, technical business analysis, software delivery, release management, QA, or DevOps/engineering.
- Familiarity with the software delivery lifecycle, including CI/CD, cloud environments, and release and change management.
- Experience with Agile delivery using a work-tracking tool such as Azure DevOps or Jira.
- Demonstrated ability to own a backlog or workstream, prioritize competing needs, and follow through with minimal direction.
- Strong written and verbal communication, including the ability to explain technical issues to non-technical audiences and to write clear runbooks and release documentation.
- Highly organized and detail-oriented, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and work effectively across business, technology, and System Integrator teams.
