From Amazon's posting. “We” and “our” refer to the employer.
You will be the product manager for Contract Central, Amazon Legal's contract lifecycle management platform. It holds about 3.5 million contracts, about 20,000 to 25,000 more are signed through it each month, and it has nearly 60,000 users. Hundreds of internal teams connect to it through APIs.
Most business users open it only a few times a year, so it has to make sense without training or a call to Legal. The team also leads a 2026 S-Team goal and works closely with the Amazon Quick organization on bringing AI into contracting.
Where the platform goes next is not fully defined. You will set the goals and lead the work, asking for direction when you need it. You should be comfortable with SQL, with how APIs work, and with detailed technical conversations with engineers.
Key job responsibilities
Own the vision, strategy and roadmap for Contract Central. Decide what to build and what to leave out, often with incomplete data, and explain your choices in writing to senior managers and Directors, and to VPs when needed.
Watch business users, lawyers and admins use the product, and separate problems many of them share from one-off requests.
Work with design and engineering to take steps out of intake, approvals, signing and workflow setup, and decide where AI and automation should do the work, such as prefilling forms or routing contracts for signature.
Evaluate technical proposals by asking what each design makes harder to change later, and balance new features with the health of a platform that hundreds of internal teams build on.
Own launches and their results. Define metrics that separate adoption from outcomes such as satisfaction, cycle time and contracts completed without Legal, and pull the data yourself.
Align lawyers, legal operations, tax, procurement and business teams with different priorities, and mentor and help hire other product managers.
We are the Legal Technology team in Amazon Legal. We build the software Amazon's lawyers and business teams use to create, approve, sign and manage contracts. The team is small for what it owns, so the role is broad. You will work with a dedicated engineering team, design, business intelligence and legal leads, and you will write your own queries, release notes and user surveys.
Over the next year we are focused on recovering user satisfaction, making contracting easier for occasional users and admins, and keeping Contract Central reliable as more teams and AI tools build on it.
The base salary range for this position is listed below. Your Amazon package will include sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location.
Amazon also offers comprehensive benefits including health insurance (medical, dental, vision, prescription, Basic Life & AD&D insurance and option for Supplemental life plans, EAP, Mental Health Support, Medical Advice Line, Flexible Spending Accounts, Adoption and Surrogacy Reimbursement coverage), 401(k) matching, paid time off, and parental leave.
