Senior Electrical Engineer, Power Electronics

About Maven

Maven Robotics designs, builds, and deploys intelligent robotics for logistics and manufacturing. Maven is building the first general-purpose robotics system for industrial work. Our mission is to activate autonomous labor at scale and build toward infinitely elastic industrial capacity. We’re a team of engineers, researchers, and operators who have spent our careers working on the hardest problems in AI, robotics, engineering, and autonomous systems.

We work at the intersection of advanced research and real-world engineering, turning ideas into prototypes and deployed systems.

At Maven, we build around the realities of industrial work. The robots are designed from first principles for complex physical environments and rigorous commercial standards. They master real tasks that deliver immediate impact, industrial-grade reliability, and intelligence that compounds at scale. We’re growing an ambitious team of people who think in systems, move quickly, and are builders at heart.

About the Role

As a Senior Electrical Engineer focused on Power Electronics at Maven Robotics, you will design, develop, and validate power electronics systems that enable reliable and efficient operation of our next-generation robotic platforms. From power architecture and circuit design to PCB development, testing, and integration, you will play a key role in building robust power conversion, distribution, and motor control solutions.

You will collaborate closely with mechanical, software, controls, and systems engineering teams to bring advanced robotic hardware from concept to production.

What You’ll Do

• Design and develop power electronics systems, including DC/DC converters, power distribution circuits, and motor drive electronics for robotic applications.
• Define power architectures, evaluate component selections, and perform trade studies to optimize efficiency, performance, thermal management, and reliability.
• Develop schematics and PCBAs for power conversion, motor control, and power management systems from concept through production release.
• Perform circuit simulation, power integrity, thermal analysis, and design validation to ensure safe and reliable operation.
• Design and integrate power electronics components, including MOSFETs, gate drivers, voltage regulators, and current/voltage sensing circuits.
• Collaborate with mechanical, controls, software, and systems teams to define power requirements, electrical interfaces, and system integration.
• Lead hardware bring-up, debugging, testing, and validation of power electronics assemblies and integrated robotic systems.
• Partner with vendors and manufacturers to support component sourcing, PCB fabrication, assembly, and design for manufacturability (DFM).

What We're Looking For

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Power Electronics, Mechatronics, or a related field.
• 5+ years of electrical engineering experience designing power electronics, power conversion systems, or motor drive hardware.
• Hands-on experience designing DC/DC converters, power distribution systems, motor drives, or battery-powered electronics.
• Strong understanding of power electronics components, including MOSFETs, gate drivers, inductors, capacitors, and current/voltage sensing circuits.
• Proficiency with circuit simulation and eCAD tools for schematic capture, PCB layout, and power electronics design.
• Experience with power PCB layout, thermal management, EMI/EMC considerations, and electrical safety.
• Experience with hardware bring-up, troubleshooting, and validation using oscilloscopes, electronic loads, power analyzers, and other diagnostic equipment.
• Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and ability to independently drive hardware designs while collaborating across teams.
• Nice to Have
• Master's or PhD in Electrical Engineering, Power Electronics, or a related field.
• Expert proficiency with Altium Designer.
• Experience with BLDC/PMSM motor drives, inverter design, or field-oriented control (FOC).
• Experience designing battery management, charging, or power distribution systems for mobile robotic platforms.
• Familiarity with power electronics simulation tools such as LTspice, PLECS, or MATLAB/Simulink.
• Experience designing power electronics for robotics, electric vehicles, industrial automation, or other high-reliability electromechanical systems.
• Equal Opportunity
• Maven Robotics is an equal opportunity employer. We celebrate diversity and are committed to creating an inclusive environment for all employees.
