Senior Product Manager

ABOUT CIVILGRID

CivilGrid is the trusted civil design platform powering affordable infrastructure renewal and growth. We give utilities, civil engineers, and municipalities a single, collaborative source of truth for what's underground so teams can plan, design, and build faster, smarter, and safer.

Our platform consolidates utility records, geotechnical and environmental data, paving moratoriums, and jurisdictional requirements directly from 3,000+ utilities, agencies, and municipalities with full chain-of-custody documentation. Teams at PG&E, Mark Thomas, and dozens of leading engineering firms use CivilGrid to cut research time by up to 88%, reduce project costs, prevent dig-ins, and accelerate delivery on the projects that keep communities running.

We're a venture-backed Series A startup tackling a $4.7T US infrastructure market that has been underserved by software for decades. Founded by industry insiders, each with 10+ years in utilities and civil engineering, we move fast, ship work that matters, and stay close to the customers and field teams we build for.

WHY THIS ROLE

As a Senior Product Manager at CivilGrid, you’ll help build out our product portfolio. You’ll manage and grow the products customers already rely on, build the business case for what comes next, and deliver new products from idea to launch. You’ll also help shape the future direction of our collaboration platform.

You’ll work side by side with engineering, design, and the customers and field teams we build for, and partner closely with the Director/Senior Director of Product Management. We’re looking for a builder who can map a customer’s workflow in one hour and dig into technical detail with engineers the next, and who’s energized by getting product into customers’ hands fast.

This role reports to the Director/Senior Director, Product Management. It is a hybrid role with an expectation that you work from our Boston, MA office at least 2 days per week.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

• Manage and grow our existing products: own their roadmaps, backlogs, adoption, and performance, and keep improving them based on customer feedback and usage data
• Build the business case for new products and features, covering customer need, market opportunity, pricing and packaging, and expected impact
• Deliver new products from discovery and validation through launch, iteration, and measurement
• Help shape the future direction of our collaboration platform, and make sure each product strengthens the portfolio as a whole
• Partner closely with engineering and design as a true thought partner: work through trade-offs, drive execution, and ship on fast cycles
• Stay close to customers, including utilities, civil engineers, and municipalities, to deeply understand their workflows and the decisions our platform needs to power
• Work with the Director/Senior Director of Product Management to turn company strategy into a focused, prioritized plan, and share that plan with the leadership team
• Help champion a default-to-shipping culture: get product into customers’ hands fast, then learn and iterate

WHAT YOU'LL BRING

• 6+ years of product management experience
• You’ve shipped multiple iterations of successful B2B products, and you can show the results
• You’ve built a business case for a new product or feature, and carried it through to launch
• You can go deep on technical detail with engineers and zoom out to strategy with executives in the same hour
• Start-up ready: you’re autonomous, move fast, and take initiative without being asked
• You default to shipping: you’d rather get something in front of users this month than perfect it for next quarter
• BONUS POINTS
• Bonus: prior industry experience in Utilities, Construction, or Engineering Firms
• Bonus: prior experience building either a geospatial platform, a workflow or platform, or both
• Bonus: a degree in Civil Engineering, or a business degree (MBA)
• HOW WE WORK
• We're a small, but rapidly growing team that ships. Expect direct feedback, real ownership from day one, and proximity to customers — huge utilities, public agencies, and engineering firms whose work depends on what we build. We default to in-person collaboration where it matters and remote-friendly flexibility otherwise. We hire people who care deeply about their craft and the communities our customers serve.

In addition to base and equity, we offer:

• Company-funded medical, dental, and vision insurance — including plans for all 3 at no cost to the employee
• FSA (health and dependent care)
• Unlimited PTO and a culture that expects you to actually use it

401(k) plan

• Flexible, remote-friendly work environment
• A high-trust team, real ownership, and the chance to do the most meaningful work of your career
• EQUAL EMPLOYMENT OPPORTUNITY

Employment decisions at CivilGrid are based on business needs, job requirements, and individual qualifications. If you require a reasonable accommodation to participate in the application or interview process, please contact us — we're happy to help.
