Big Spaceship is looking for a social-first Senior Copywriter who is as comfortable making the content as they are concepting it. You’ll develop relevant, memorable, highly creative ideas for clients through language that supports strategy, design, and brand expression, and you’ll roll up your sleeves to shoot, edit, and ship the work. You’ll be confident presenting ideas to clients and showing the strategic thinking underneath them.

At Big Spaceship, ideas come first and where they live is secondary, so you should be fluent in every channel, with social at the center of your craft.

Roles + Responsibilities:

Come up with ideas. All. Day. Long.

• Write social-first concepts and copy that earn attention in the feed, from captions and scripts to hooks, series formats, and community voice
• Get hands-on making content: shooting, editing, and producing short-form video, stills, and other social-native assets, from quick-turn reactive posts to polished campaign pieces
• Participate in content ideation for marketing campaigns, leveraging an understanding of audiences, channel strategies, and social trends
• Work directly with an Art Director partner and collaborate fiercely with every other discipline in the shop
• Brainstorm with insight and empathy to solve problems in awesome, sometimes hilarious, compelling ways
• Spot and act on culture in real time, curating the videos, stories, and memes that are about to become part of the conversation in a big way
• Maintain awareness of the Recently Possible and look for opportunities to innovate and bring big brand ideas to life in new ways

Requirements

• 5-7+ years of copywriting experience, preferably across different agency backgrounds
• Portfolio demonstrating social-first copy and concepting, plus content you’ve personally created or produced
• Hands-on content creation skills (shooting, editing, motion, or similar) and comfort with mobile-first production tools
• Deep understanding of all major social platforms (Instagram, TikTok, X, YouTube, etc.) as well as smaller and emerging ones, including what makes content perform on each
• Experience in liquor and spirits, beer, wine, or adjacent alcohol categories preferred, including familiarity with the regulatory and platform guidelines that come with responsible alcohol marketing
• A passion for digital culture and inventing solutions to tomorrow’s challenges today
• Exceptional writing and presentation abilities
• The ability to work collaboratively with colleagues across disciplines
• Familiarity with AP style
• Must be 21+ and comfortable working on and around alcohol brands and events.
