Position Summary

The intern will support the development and qualification of a spectral flow cytometry assay within the Autologous and Autoimmune Product Sciences team. This role offers hands-on laboratory experience and exposure to assay development processes, data analysis, and scientific documentation. The intern will collaborate with scientists to improve assay performance and generate high-quality data supporting clinical product characterization.

Over the course of the internship, the intern will own a set of method development experiments, from experimental design through data interpretation and presentation of results.

The full-time internship will take place June - August 2027.

Key Responsibilities

• Plan and execute method development experiments for a spectral flow cytometry phenotyping panel
• Projects may include optimizing unmixing strategy, improving execution workflow, and assessing sample stability
• Analyze and interpret experimental data to assess assay performance
• Document experimental procedures, results, and observations in electronic laboratory notebook (ELN)
• Collaborate with team members to troubleshoot and optimize protocols
• Present findings and progress in team meetings and a final project presentation
• Maintain laboratory safety and compliance with standard operating procedures – intern will work with human-derived material, bloodborne pathogen training provided

Qualifications & Experience

• Currently enrolled in a bachelor’s or master’s program in immunology, cell biology, biochemistry, biomedical engineering, or a related field
• Coursework or lab experience in cell culture, pipetting, aseptic technique
• Hands-on experience in flow cytometry (spectral or conventional) preferred, but not required
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, comfortable with data and spreadsheets
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Attention to detail and strong organizational skills
• Prior internship or industrial laboratory experience is a plus
