Position Summary...

The Director leads the development and execution of integrated strategies addressing complex issues that can affect Walmart’s business, reputation, and ability to operate. This role turns emerging policy and reputational challenges into actionable campaigns by bringing together research, government affairs, communications, stakeholder engagement, external partners, and business perspectives. The Director works across the enterprise to build alignment, provide strategic counsel, develop data-informed advocacy approaches, and adapt strategies as issues and operating environments evolve. From defining the problem and developing the strategy through activation and measurement, this role helps translate complex external challenges into practical solutions that advance Walmart’s objectives. About the team: The Public Affairs Campaign team leads Walmart’s strategic issues management and advocacy on complex public policy, legislative, regulatory, and reputational matters. The team integrates government affairs, communications, stakeholder engagement, research, and business strategy to identify risks and opportunities, shape policy outcomes, and support operational flexibility. Through data-driven research, coalition building, targeted advocacy, and cross-functional collaboration, the team develops practical, business-focused strategies that advance company objectives. This multidisciplinary team serves as strategic problem solvers, helping partners navigate complex external environments and address issues that span jurisdictions, stakeholder groups, and business portfolios.

What you'll do...

Lead integrated strategies addressing complex policy, legislative, regulatory, and reputational issues.

Translate emerging risks and opportunities into actionable, business-focused campaigns.

Connect government affairs, communications, research, stakeholder engagement, and business priorities.

Build cross-functional alignment and provide strategic counsel to partners and leaders.

Use data, research, and external intelligence to guide strategy and measure impact.

Develop coalitions and activate external partners to advance shared objectives.

Manage campaigns, consultants, resources, and deliverables from strategy through execution.

Adapt advocacy approaches as business needs and external environments evolve.

The annual salary range for this position is $110,000.00 - $220,000.00

Additional compensation includes annual or quarterly performance bonuses.
