From Delta Air Lines's posting. “We” and “our” refer to the employer.
At Delta Air Lines, we're redefining how brands connect with customers through premium, high-impact advertising experiences. We're expanding on the foundation of Delta Sync to unlock new advertising opportunities, and we're looking for a Senior Manager of Media Network Strategy & Transformation to work closely with the Head of Delta's Media Network — a highly strategic, versatile problem solver who can bring structure to ambiguity, connect dots across the business, and help turn ideas into action.
The Senior Manager of Media Network Strategy & Transformation will serve as a trusted thought partner and strategic resource to the Head of Delta's Media Network and broader leadership team. This person will pressure-test thinking, synthesize complex information into clear recommendations and executive-ready narratives, tackle high-priority and often ambiguous special projects, and help keep the organization aligned against its most important priorities.
The ideal candidate combines strong media and advertising acumen with exceptional problem-solving, storytelling, and executive communication skills — and is equally comfortable shaping a strategic recommendation, building a leadership presentation, or jumping into an urgent cross-functional challenge.
Strategic Thought Partnership: Serve as a trusted thought partner to the Head of Delta's Media Network, bringing an independent perspective to strategic, commercial, and organizational questions. Pressure-test ideas, connect insights across the business and broader media landscape, and help translate early thinking into clear decisions and actions.
Decision Support & Problem Solving: Quickly structure complex or ambiguous questions facing the Media Network, synthesize inputs across functions and the market, pressure-test potential paths forward, and develop clear recommendations to support leadership decision-making.
Executive Storytelling & Communications: Translate complex strategies, analyses, and cross-functional inputs into clear, compelling executive narratives and presentations. Develop high-quality leadership materials for senior Delta audiences, ensuring the Media Network's strategy, progress, decisions, and asks are communicated with clarity and impact.
Special Projects & Strategic Analysis: Lead high-priority, often ambiguous projects on behalf of the Head of Delta's Media Network, including competitive and market assessments, business cases, organizational questions, new opportunities, and cross-functional challenges. Rapidly structure problems, develop fact-based recommendations, and drive work toward decisions and outcomes.
Media & Competitive Intelligence: Maintain a strong understanding of the media network, advertising, and broader industry landscape, synthesizing competitor activity, emerging models, advertiser trends, and market developments into implications and actionable perspectives for Delta's Media Network.
Strategic Project Leadership: Embed across Ad Sales, Ad Sales Marketing, Ad Products, Business Operations, and Media Operations on priority initiatives, providing hands-on strategic support to structure the work, solve problems, unblock decisions, and accelerate progress.
Executive Preparation & Briefings: Prepare the Head of Delta's Media Network and other senior leaders for high-stakes internal and external moments, developing concise briefings, talking points, recommendations, and supporting analysis for executive reviews, advertiser and agency meetings, industry events, and partner discussions.
Operating Rhythm & Leadership Effectiveness: Help design and run the leadership team's operating rhythm, including staff meetings, business reviews, planning sessions, and other leadership forums. Partner with Business Operations to ensure discussions are decision-oriented, actions are clear, and leadership attention remains focused on the highest-value priorities.
Organizational Communications: Shape internal leadership communications, organizational updates, and key messages for Delta's Media Network, creating a consistent narrative around strategy, priorities, progress, and decisions.
AI-Enabled Strategy & Productivity: Use AI and emerging tools to accelerate research, analysis, synthesis, executive communication, and cross-functional coordination; identify opportunities to improve the speed and quality of how the Media Network leadership team operates.
Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
Experience in consulting, corporate strategy, advertising/media, or a related strategic role, with meaningful experience working directly with senior executives and supporting high-stakes decisions
Consistently prioritizes safety and security of self, others, and personal data.
Embraces diverse people, thinking, and styles.
Possesses a high school diploma, GED, or high school equivalency.
Is at least 18 years of age and has authorization to work in the United States.
Ideal candidate possesses 10+ years of experience.
Strong understanding of digital advertising, retail media, travel media, or adjacent commerce media businesses, with the ability to engage credibly on business and industry topics.
Demonstrated ability to serve as a trusted thought partner to senior leaders, bringing sound judgment, high EQ, and the confidence to respectfully challenge ideas and assumptions.
Exceptional problem-solving, analytical, and structuring skills, with the ability to turn complex, ambiguous, and incomplete information into clear recommendations and actionable paths forward.
Outstanding executive storytelling and presentation skills, including the ability to independently create clear, compelling, executive-ready presentations and other leadership materials.
Demonstrated ability to lead high-priority, cross-functional projects with multiple stakeholders, tight timelines, and evolving requirements while maintaining a high level of quality and attention to detail.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to synthesize complex information and communicate effectively with audiences ranging from working teams to senior executives.
Comfortable operating in a high-growth, ambiguous environment where priorities and processes continue to evolve, with a genuine appetite for solving new problems and building what does not yet exist.
Familiarity with AI and emerging tools, with the ability to use them thoughtfully to accelerate research, analysis, synthesis, and executive preparation
