About the Role

We’re looking for a Senior Vice President of Broker Distribution to lead Thimble’s next stage of growth within the broker channel. With a proven platform, expanding technology and AI native capabilities, the focus is on scaling our broker and distribution partner network to increase premium. The right leader will define how Thimble shows up and will leave a lasting mark on a business that is scaling.

Reporting directly to the President, you’ll own a clear mandate: grow premium by building and expanding high-quality distribution relationships. With appetite and underwriting set and automated, your focus will be on the market: finding the right partners, getting them producing, and making Thimble the easiest small business market to work with.

What You'll Do: Externally: Grow the Distribution Network

• Drive premium growth.
• Own GWP targets for distribution and deliver growth in active, producing partners and premium per partner.
• Build strategic partnerships.
• Source, negotiate and close partnerships with distribution partners that fit Thimble’s appetite, and personally own the most important relationships.
• Manage partner quality.
• Appoint partners aligned with our appetite, track production and fit, and take action where partners underperform, including performance plans or exit.
• Lead AI-native and digital distribution.
• Turn Thimble’s A2A, MCP and API capabilities into production by bringing them to partners’ platforms and AI-driven workflows, and position Thimble as the go-to market for AI-enabled distribution.
• Represent Thimble and Arch in the market.
• Be a visible voice at industry events and with senior leaders across distribution and bring market intelligence back to the business.
• Internally: Build the Engine
• Set the distribution strategy.
• Define the multi-year plan, channel priorities and growth targets, and lead annual and quarterly planning as a member of the executive leadership team.
• Lead and grow the team.
• Lead the existing distribution team, including business development and account management, and build out the structure, territories, incentives and performance standards needed to scale.
• Be the voice of the partner.
• Bring partner and customer feedback to Insurance, Underwriting and Product to inform appetite, product and roadmap priorities.
• Partner with Product and Engineering.
• Advocate for the broker experience, from portal and quote-to-bind to API integrations.
• Partner with Marketing.
• Work with Marketing on partner launches, co-marketing and campaigns that drive partner activation and production.
• Report on performance.
• Provide clear, regular reporting to the President, leadership team and Arch on production, pipeline and forecasts.
• What We're Looking For: 15+ years in P&C insurance distribution or business development, including 7+ years leading distribution teams at the VP level or above.
• A proven record of scaling a distribution channel and delivering measurable premium growth.
• Experience building and leading teams in a high-growth environment.
• Deep, senior relationships across the small commercial distribution landscape.
• Strong working knowledge of small business products, appetite and commission structures.
• Executive presence and the ability to influence a leadership team, a parent company and external partners.
• Data-driven, comfortable managing to growth targets, pipeline and KPIs.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills.
• Bachelor’s degree required.
• Preferred
• Experience at an insurtech, MGA or digital distribution business.
• Experience with API, embedded or platform distribution partnerships, and a clear point of view on how AI agents will change insurance distribution.
• Experience operating within a larger carrier or insurance group.
• P&C license; CPCU or similar designation.

Compensation: The salary range estimated for this role is $240,000 - $275,000. Total individual compensation offered will take into account a number of factors including but not limited to geographic location, scope and responsibilities of the role, qualifications, talent availability and specialization as well as business needs. The above pay range may be modified in the future.
