Lead Patient Service Specialist, Abdominal Transplant Clinic

Job Description​

This position is responsible for supporting and leading the clerical workflow within the clinic, serving as a resource for Patient Service Specialists, Scheduling, and Referral Specialists, and assisting with training onboarding of Staff. The Lead Patient Service Specialist provides coverage as needed and supports the Manager with daily clinic operations.

Leads and supports clerical and administrative workflow within the department and assists with maintaining consistent processes and expectations.

Serves as a resource for Patient Service Specialists and assists with questions, workflow concerns, and day-to-day problem solving.

Assists with training and onboarding new clerical staff.

Meets, greets, directs and schedules patients and visitors.

Provides coverage or coordinates coverage for other clerical and administrative positions, as needed.

Assists Business Supervisor and/or Clinic Manager with tasks as needed.

Assists with patient concerns and helps escalate issues appropriately when needed.

Assists with deposits and hospital charge entry as applicable.

Demonstrates strong communication, customer service, problem-solving, and de-escalation skills.

Helps promote teamwork, professionalism, and consistent patient service standards within the clinic.

Post-secondary education in a relevant field preferred

At least 3 years of healthcare ambulatory experience plus at least 2 years within the department, preferred.
