The Department of Engineering Education (https://eed.osu.edu/) at The Ohio State University is accepting applications from candidates of all engineering backgrounds for a full-time Semester Lecturer appointment to teach first-year engineering courses in the Department of Engineering Education. The appointment would begin in January 2027 for the Spring 2027 Semester.

All engineering students complete a two-course Engineering Foundations sequence that combines lecture-based instruction with hands-on lab experiences. The courses cover content including problem solving and the engineering design process. The courses also include the use of computer tools such as Excel, MATLAB, C/C++ (Honors only), and solid modeling software. In the labs, students collect, analyze, and interpret experimental data, and each sequence culminates with a design-build-test project to solve a real-world problem.

Developing teamwork and communication skills is an essential part of these courses.

All courses are taught in person on the University’s main campus in Columbus, Ohio.
