Join Walmart as a Staff Software Engineer to lead the design, development, and delivery of scalable platform capabilities, including infrastructure, tooling, and AI/ML frameworks. We develop enterprise-scale machine learning systems integral to every Walmart customer transaction, focusing on extracting and processing product attributes that ensure accurate taxation across all sales channels. Our work impacts every checkout and receipt, driving significant real-world outcomes.

Collaborating closely with stakeholders, we translate complex challenges into scalable, maintainable solutions that advance AI application at Walmart, fostering continuous innovation and technical excellence across the enterprise.

What you'll do:

• Deliver platform capabilities including infrastructure, tooling, and ML frameworks aligned with roadmap milestones and domain priorities.
• Drive full software development lifecycle activities such as coding, testing, deployment, monitoring, and maintenance.
• Apply cloud-native architecture principles to ensure scalable, resilient, and agile systems.
• Conduct system design reviews to validate quality and alignment with architectural best practices.
• Build AI-driven applications integrating ML components to support automation and multi-step reasoning.
• Mentor engineers, influence technical decisions, and promote standardization and sustainability.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to translate user problems into actionable technical requirements.
• Utilize data-driven practices to define success metrics and optimize development processes.
• Lead continuous improvement efforts through innovation and tooling enhancements

What you'll bring:

• Proven expertise in cloud-native architecture, including microservices, containers, and automation to build scalable and resilient systems.
• Strong proficiency in software design patterns, API design, and platform development to deliver high-quality solutions.
• Experience leading full software development lifecycle activities, including coding, testing, CI/CD deployment, and observability.
• Ability to mentor and guide engineering teams, fostering technical growth and promoting best practices.
• Skilled in data-driven decision making to define metrics, optimize processes, and ensure engineering excellence.
• Demonstrated problem-solving skills with a focus on innovation and continuous improvement.

The annual salary range for this position is $110,000.00 - $220,000.00

Additional compensation includes annual or quarterly performance bonuses.

Minimum Qualifications...
