Dietary Manager- CDM Certified or Working Toward Certification - Cura of Willmar

Cura of Willmar is looking for a Certified Dietary Manager (CDM) to lead our dietary department! We are also open to candidates who are currently working toward obtaining their CDM certification.

Position Responsibilities

Lead and oversee daily dietary department operations to ensure residents receive nutritious, high-quality meals and an enjoyable dining experience.

Supervise, mentor, and educate dietary staff while fostering a positive, respectful, and team-oriented work environment.

Provide ongoing staff education and training on food safety, sanitation, infection control, proper food handling, and meal service standards.

Promote accountability and ensure consistent compliance with state and federal regulations, facility policies, and dietary best practices.

Oversee meal preparation, food presentation, therapeutic diets, and resident food preferences.

Manage food ordering and inventory.

Maintain accurate dietary documentation, assessments, and required regulatory records.

Collaborate with nursing and other departments to ensure residents' nutritional needs and dining preferences are met.

Assist with meal preparation and service as needed to support the team.

Requirements

• Certified Dietary Manager (CDM) preferred. Candidates who are actively pursuing their CDM certification are encouraged to apply.
• Previous leadership or supervisory experience in dietary services, food service management, or a related field preferred.
• Experience in a skilled nursing facility, assisted living, or healthcare setting preferred.
• Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate, educate, and develop a successful team.
• Knowledge of food safety, sanitation, infection control, and regulatory compliance.
• Ability to effectively train staff, reinforce expectations, and maintain consistent food service standards.
• Excellent communication, organization, and problem-solving skills.
• A positive attitude, strong work ethic, and commitment to resident-centered care.
