Why SLP?

The Stanley Black & Decker Leadership Program (SLP) is a fast-track rotational program that is an integrated process for accelerating the development of our future leaders. It is geared toward recent graduates with Information Technology internship experience and a relevant business degree who have a passion for a long-term career in Information Technology.

IT SLPs work in three 8-month rotations onsite in different facilities across the United States or, in unique cases, internationally. Each rotation has project assignments that allow participants to become familiar with how we do business and contribute to the success of that business. Our program offers invaluable experiences for early-career associates seeking challenging developmental opportunities to jump-start their careers.

The Job

As part of the SLP program, you’ll join our Information Technology team and gain experience in both enterprise IT and applied AI. Through an AI bootcamp in your first rotation and hands-on opportunities in later rotations, you’ll:

Build foundational knowledge in AI, automation, analytics, and digital technologies, and apply those capabilities across multiple IT rotations.

Analyze business processes, assess needs, and support the development of technology solutions that align with business priorities and drive operational improvement.

Partner with business stakeholders and IT teams to define requirements, solve problems, and recommend technical or AI-enabled solutions.

Support the implementation, testing, documentation, training, and continuous improvement of systems, processes, and AI-driven capabilities.

Collaborate across functions to identify opportunities for innovation, enhance user experience, and improve business performance through technology.

The Person

Bachelor’s degree in Business, Information Systems, Computer Science, or a related field.

Foundational knowledge of IT principles, systems development, project management, and analytical problem-solving.

Prior internship in functional IT area which may include Enterprise Architecture, Data Science, Business Insights and Intelligent Automation.

Interest in AI, automation, analytics, and emerging technologies, with a willingness to learn and apply new tools quickly.

Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively across teams and levels of the organization.

Demonstrated leadership potential, sound judgment, integrity, accountability, and a continuous improvement mindset.

Must be willing to rotate work assignments, projects, and teams every 6-12 months throughout the program. Relocation for a minimum of one rotation may be required.

The Salary range for this position is $60,000.00 - $96,600.00
 This is the lowest to highest annual full-time salary range we would pay for this role at the time of this posting. The salary offered within the range may vary depending on multiple factors including job level, geographic location, job-related knowledge, skills, qualifications, experience and in compliance with local wage requirements. Please note that salary is only one component of total rewards at Stanley Black & Decker. ​
