We are seeking a highly skilled MarTech Architect to lead the architecture, delivery, governance, and evolution of enterprise marketing technology capabilities. This role requires broad and deep hands-on expertise across Adobe Experience Platform (AEP), Adobe Real-Time Customer Data Platform (RTCDP), and Adobe Journey Optimizer (AJO), with the ability to design solutions that connect customer data, decisioning, journey orchestration, analytics, and activation across the broader MarTech ecosystem.
The ideal candidate combines enterprise architecture leadership with strong delivery discipline and practical engineering capability. This person must be able to translate business objectives into scalable solution designs, guide work from discovery through production deployment, and perform targeted data-engineering activities when needed, including SQL analysis, Python-based data processing, data modeling, pipeline troubleshooting, validation, and integration support.
Key Responsibilities
- Architect end-to-end MarTech solutions across CDP, customer data, identity, journey orchestration, email/SMS, personalization, analytics, measurement, and activation, with deep expertise in Adobe Experience Platform (AEP), Real-Time CDP (RTCDP), Adobe Journey Optimizer (AJO), Customer Journey Analytics (CJA), Adobe Target, and related enterprise platforms
- Own the architecture across CDP and Customer 360, defining how customer, prospect, digital, transactional, behavioral, loyalty, consent, and marketing data come together to create trusted customer profiles and reusable audiences across the enterprise.
- Define ESP and customer messaging architecture across email and SMS, including customer and subscriber data, eligibility, preferences, consent, suppression, segmentation, triggered communications, audience synchronization, personalization, deliverability dependencies, operational monitoring, and closed-loop response data.
- Define activation architecture across the customer lifecycle, supporting prospect acquisition, existing-customer engagement, lifecycle communications, personalization, loyalty, retention, and next-best-action use cases across owned marketing channels.
- Architect digital data collection capabilities, including Adobe Web SDK, event and data-layer standards, tag management, consent enforcement, server-side data collection, validation, and integration into the customer data ecosystem.
- Design and maintain XDM schemas, datasets, field groups, identity namespaces, merge policies, profile enablement strategies, segmentation frameworks, and identity stitching approaches.
- Lead future-state and transition-state MarTech architecture, assessing current platforms, defining target-state capabilities, identifying gaps and technical debt, establishing migration sequencing, and developing practical roadmaps for modernization and legacy-platform retirement.
- Lead solution delivery from discovery and design through build, testing, deployment, stabilization, and operational handoff, with clear ownership of dependencies, risks, decisions, technical outcomes, and implementation quality.
- Translate business objectives and use cases into target-state architecture, solution designs, delivery plans, technical requirements, integration patterns, implementation guardrails, and engineering standards.
- Partner closely with product owners, project managers, business analysts, engineers, marketing users, analytics teams, security, privacy, infrastructure teams, and vendors to drive delivery, resolve blockers, and ensure successful business outcomes.
- Establish MarTech engineering and architecture standards, including data and integration patterns, architecture decision records, schema governance, naming and taxonomy standards, API standards, CI/CD, environment management, automated testing, observability, reconciliation, production readiness, and operational support.
- Define scalable batch, streaming, event-driven, and API-based ingestion and activation patterns, including data movement between cloud platforms, enterprise systems, and Adobe technologies.
- Perform hands-on technical work when needed, including SQL analysis and optimization, Python-based automation and validation, data profiling, data mapping, data modeling, transformation logic, integration troubleshooting, data quality remediation, and pipeline support.
- Develop and maintain conceptual, logical, and physical data models that support customer profiles, digital interactions, marketing events, audiences, personalization, analytics, and activation use cases.
- Define monitoring, observability, alerting, reconciliation, and operational support standards across data ingestion, identity processing, profile updates, audience qualification, journeys, messaging, and activation workflows.
- Drive privacy, consent, preference, and customer-data governance by design, ensuring customer data is collected, resolved, governed, retained, and activated in accordance with enterprise security, privacy, and data-governance requirements.
- Define and maintain security models, access controls, and compliance configurations across MarTech platforms and customer data environments.
- Embed AI and agentic capabilities into the MarTech ecosystem, including personalization, next-best-action, audience intelligence, marketing decisioning, content enablement, automation, and AI assistants, while establishing appropriate governance and responsible use of customer data.
- Evaluate MarTech platforms and emerging capabilities and provide recommendations based on business fit, architectural alignment, scalability, integration complexity, implementation effort, operating cost, licensing implications, and long-term maintainability.
- Maintain architecture diagrams, data flows, interface specifications, design decisions, operational procedures, and technical standards to support ongoing platform governance, delivery, and operational excellence.
- Required Skills & Qualifications
- 7+ years of experience in MarTech architecture, customer data platforms, enterprise data architecture, solution architecture, or closely related roles.
- Deep, hands-on experience designing and implementing enterprise solutions with Adobe Experience Platform (AEP), Adobe Real-Time Customer Data Platform (RTCDP), and Adobe Journey Optimizer (AJO).
- Strong expertise in XDM schema design, datasets, field groups, identities, namespaces, merge policies, Real-Time Customer Profile, segmentation, and audience activation.
- Strong AJO experience, including journey and campaign architecture, event- and audience-based orchestration, decisioning, channel configuration, and integration dependencies.
- Demonstrated experience delivering complex MarTech or data-platform initiatives from initial requirements and architecture through production deployment and operational stabilization.\
- Strong SQL skills, including the ability to analyze large datasets, troubleshoot data issues, validate transformations, and review or optimize complex queries.
- Working proficiency in Python for data engineering, automation, data validation, transformation, or troubleshooting use cases.
- Strong experience with data modeling, data mapping, data transformation, and batch and real-time data pipeline patterns.
- Experience with cloud data and integration services, preferably AWS services such as S3, Redshift, Glue, Lambda, and related orchestration or monitoring capabilities.
